Would have loved this as a child!

I loved this book; the sacred feminine aspects were comforting and spoke volumes.
I probably would have given this four stars but all along I was anticipating the next scenario. Ending was a bit too much for this tender hearted, happy ending idealist.

The good news about sex and marriage: through the power of the cross (and with our consent), God eagerly reaches into our lives to redeem, and perfect our sexuality/relationships/marriages in accordance to his will (a.k.a. our sincere happiness). This book influenced me from two aspects. On one hand, (the most obvious) the book has convinced me at a personal level what sexual satisfaction and fulfillment in relationships/marriage is about. On the other hand, the book also reminds me of the bigger picture: as the human race matures, our understanding of sex and marriage is bound to gravitate towards truth, and cause our social behaviors to change accordingly. In other words, something tells me humanity is ready to go rom drinking milk to eating solid food where sex/marriage is concerned. We will and may spit on ourselves half the time...but we'll learn. Who knows what sex/marriage looks like once we are able to eat by ourselves. Peace.
This book was good...not as good as Esperanza Rising, but I enjoyed it. Like Esparanza Rising, it had the bits and pieces of Mexican culture that I enjoy reading about and are the main reason why I enjoy Ryan's writing as much as I do.
wow! these people are GREAT! the mystery is..........unspeakable and dumbfounding. i suspect timmy is real cute. :)
I've actually been looking for this book. I've been looking for authors on my old e-reader device and I remembered enjoying Hell Cop. I also remember it leaving off with a bit of a cliffhanger. So I was glad to have found this book on my Kindle. Sadly, I'm not glad I read the sequel. The premise was good, but the executing I found lacking. I never got a foothold into this world and what the creatures were or what Getter was going through. It wasn't that it was fast paced. I just don't think that things were described enough. For some reason, everyone constantly mentioned that Getter was the One. Getter was annoyed by that and I was super annoyed because everyone said it every other paragraph. I didn't like the way Lucifer was portrayed. He was like a caricature and so were other characters. Also, a lot of them sounded the same. Lastly, there was some weird formatting issues. First, it was in some old school typewriter style. Suddenly, it changed to a more modern one, but that was all in italics. After that, it got rid of the italics and I was like finally! Sadly, it eventually changed to italics again and back. Like the first book, there's still a lot of unresolved plot issues. But unlike the first book, I don't feel the need to pick up the sequel to this one if there ever is one.
I don't think I've given a book 5 stars in a long time, but this novel was seriously good!! I enjoyed it from start to finish, so much so I bought the sequel Soul Intent, immediately after ending it. Dennis does a phenomenal job with the entire sprit/reincarnation/religious aspects of the novel as it ties into the corporation and business structure. The characters were believable and very humanistic in their protrayal, making the book very easy to read. Mr. Batchelder certainly has a new fan in me and I can't wait to get started on Soul Intent.
