Awsome book. It makes you aware of the extent of the changes taking place in the golbalised world and all the new possibilities it brings with it. This book surely is heavy on content, but that very effectively shows the changing environment in which businesses now have to compete against each other- the competition just got global! The best part about this book is that it explains to us that these changes not just effect businesses but also individuals...in a way nobody could have thought possible. Its only when one reads this book does one realize what exacltly is happening to the world!

This book is a great read. Larry Elder clearly gives many examples of the many ways that people use race as an excuse for not achieving goals. When if fact the main problem with the Black community is inactivity and self sabotage.

Enjoyed this book, it was probably something that I wouldn't have picked out to read at the store or library - it got left behind in my office and I picked it up for something to read while eating lunch. Usually those books read at lunch break take forever to get through .. anyway, I really enjoyed this book it is about a private investigator and the various cases he is working on. It is told from various viewpoints and is woven together with some great underlying humor to result in something that I wasnt expecting. Sometimes it is better to have a low expectation of a book and then be really impressed by it.

For some strange reason I found this book to be a relaxing read. It did take some time to get into the storey but I found the descriptions of Tibetan culture and religion woven into the storeyline to be a nice way to gain insight into the situation in Tibet. I find the ending to be an interesting contrast to the Tibetan monks spirituality and approach to their lives. Trying to keep track of the characters and their relationships to the bigger picture was difficult at times as I was primarily reading this before I fell asleep. However, when I had the chance to sit down with it during the day on a weekend the pages seems to flow at a nice pace. The best compliment I can give the book is that I was never in a hurry at the end to complete the book by skimming the pages jus to get to the end. I am going to give his next book in the series a try and see how Shan's life moves along.
**1/2 Decent book, but overall it didn't come through on the action or the supernatural elements or the romantic pieces. This is one of his earlier books, and it sets out to do a lot while maintaining a fast pace, and doesn't quite hit every point it attempts but at least keeps the pacing. A lot of the themes and story elements of this book were re-used and made better in some of his later stories.

I actually liked this book. I don't remember the movie, if I even saw it, but I'm sure the book was better. Even though Jane Wyman is awesome because she reminds me of my oma.
