I absolutely loved this book. It was one of my favorite stories ever. It was a little boring at the beginning but keep reading and it gets really good. With a surprise ending this book is definately one of my all time favorites.

"UUHHHHRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!" That sound about sums up how I feel about this book, and picture me ripping my hair out while I scream that at the top of my lungs. Boring, unoriginal story, lame (emphasis on LAME) characters, lackluster writing... I ask myself how this even got published (much less so highly rated), though it's far from the worst out there. I seriously had to go through and read reviews to find out why anyone, ANYONE liked this book. I had to drag myself kicking and screaming through all 390 pages of this. First off, I hate Sam. Can she have made this kid any more of a sissy? I despised him from the first paragraph he was included in. He's a werewolf and he acts like this? He is such a huge SISSY. His character literally disgusted me. And, let's talk about Grace, the selfish and ignorant thing she is... I don't even know what to say. About the worst thing the author could have done was bring them together in this pathetic excuse for a romance and uhg, just UHG! I really believe that books like this should not be allowed to have pretty covers, because I am definitely guilty of initially judging books by their covers. Even after all of these years, I still haven't learned my lesson. Unless you love stupidly sappy, unbelievable romances with unlikable characters and idiotic stories, skip this- PLEASE.

Ben Martin's debut fantasy novel Escaping Entry is filled with rich detail and well developed characters. From beginning to end, Martin does a fantastic job of keeping you on your toes and building the suspense within the story. He manages to drop subtle hints throughout the book keeping his reader's interested as well as entertained. As the book progresses we see Billy, the main character face some difficult choices. Billy is indeed a strong character and embodies the mind of several 17-year-olds. He craves adventure and an escape from the boredom he faces in Entry. Although the overall mood of the book gave off an ominous feeling, the dialogue between the characters couldn't help but keep me laughing. Martin's use of dialogue is evidence of his ability to connect to the reader. He does well where others don't. Martin not only tells but shows. His description of his characters and the town of Entry leaves you breathless. It gives you the sense of familiarity. After reading Escaping Entry I'm left with the feeling of longing...longing for Ben Martin to hurry up and right another novel!! Overall, I can honestly say that I thoroughly enjoyed Escaping Entry. I strongly believe Ben Martin is a force to be reckoned with and I look forward to his future novels! I can only hope that he continues the story of Billy Stun. I highly recommend this book to all reading ages! V.B.

This is one of my favorite authors. Her books are very accessible and easy to read. "Bait and Switch" is a tragic tale of the unemployment industry, but specifically the white-collar end. It introduced me to a new term, "underemployment." It's when someone is employed, but only part time, or in a temporary position while trying to find a position in an different industry. I picked this up while I was half-way through a temporary position, working in Detroit where unemployment was continuing to rise. Just after I finished, Pfizer laid off 20,000 people in Michigan. Suddenly job security became a priority for me as I begin my career.

Loved, loved, loved this book. Actually the whole series. It was packed with action and suspense and romance. I thought everything was wrapped up together well. Even gave answers to her other series Clockwork and connected families. I only wish she would have let some of the characters know more of what we the reader knows about their ancestry. We know the answers and how they fit together but the story left them partially in the dark. Can't wait to read more from Cassandra Clare.
It was good, but again, a little depressing, and maybe a little predictable.

Clever and funny, ties together historical and futuristic themes masterfully. Prose is a bit rough, but the entire story is immensely satisfying, save the ending. But then, all the endings for Neal Stephenson's books are absolutely abysmal.

"Now listen to me, Buddy: there's only one unpardonable sin - deliberate cruelty. All else can be forgiven. That, never" A story of a true friendship, forgiveness and kindness. Liked it so much:) All three of them together again: Buddy, elderly Miss Sook and the dog Queenie + a bully boy Odd Henderson...The story's full of subtle humour, but not without meaning. Reading it made me feel and think like a child again...

In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV. Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she steps forward to take her sister's place in the Games. But Katniss has been close to dead before—and survival, for her, is second nature. Without really meaning to, she becomes a contender. But if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that will weigh survival against humanity and life against love. This was completely awesome! That was my initial reaction to The Hunger Games on reading the final few words. I then wondered why it had taken me almost four years to jump on the bandwagon that many of my fellow bloggers have been riding on for years. The truth is, I really don't know. I love the story arc of The Hunger Games so much! It was so interesting to learn about the day to day life of Katniss, Gale and the others and to read about how much they had to go through on a daily basis just to survive. The background really helped in understanding why it was so important for Katniss and the other District 12 tribute Peeta to win The Hunger Games - and why they defied the rules. I'm really not going to write any more. Most people have long read the entire trilogy several times over and so know the story back to front. I just have one ask - please don't spoil it for a blogger who needs to read the other two installments! Feel free to bash me for not reading the trilogy for so long though!
