A good look into Blackwater. Schahill did some good digging, and produced a readable book overall. Definitely a bias to it, but with the evidence to support it. Initially I was turned off to the large amount of background spewed out about the founders early on, but it later was great information to put the company into context with. I still think it could have started out with more overarching information about the company to help solidify the question of "What is Blackwater?" first. If you are interested in the subject, definitely a to-read, but otherwise you can take it or leave it.

Very difficult reading, perhaps you should be a philosopher first and then read it !

Solid. Nothing particularly new, but a really nicely-written overview of key biological, psychological and moral issues that sums up what it means to be human.

This would be my first ebook purchased ever and all i can say is, it's worth my $0.99. [hehe] Kimmy for me is an egoist. She is selfish indeed. She blamed other people for all the vicissitudes of her own life. and I think that Manolo guy, is definetely H-O-T. [haha] I think I'm in love with him. :)

This is an interesting book, both from a fictional perspective as well as from an historical one. It's a quick read, but isn't pure brain candy like most drama/suspense fiction books are. It provides a lesson on religion that is woven throughout the story, but is pretty obviously meant to inform the reader as much as the main characters in the book. It also lends itself to a sequel, since we only learn of the First Secret Mystery; much more interesting than a dry historical account. It is a little rough in some places, and some of the dialogue feels pretty forced, but overall it was an engaging story with contemporary themes. Bibliography and Book Club Discussion questions at the end provide further information and opportunities to probe deeper into the history of religion. I received this book from the Goodreads giveaway - I am gradually learning more and more about various world religions and enjoyed reading this book. It makes me want to learn more about the earliest religions and how Christianity has evolved throughout the years.

I'm not usually one for business-y books but this one is about management and it's phenomenal. I highly recommend it for anyone in a managerial role.

...and this is how the story of the survivor's family should be told. David
It's true, Astrid is one of those people that you feel for, and relate to even if you never even lived in a Foster Home, but it did something for Foster Homes I hope.
