** spoiler alert ** Cassandra Clare should have give J. K. Rowling lesson on how to end an epic tale. This last installment of the Mortal Instruments was everything I was expecting and at the same time, like nothing I ever imagine it would be. I was on state of excitement since I first opened the book ‘till I finished at four in the morning. From the very first chapter to the epilogue, I could feel my heart on my throat. We finally get to see the infamous Sebastian in this story. He was nothing like I had thought he would be, and yet I’m not even a little bit disappointed. We got happy endings all around. For Jace and Clary, for Alec and Magnus, Jocelyn and Luke. Even for Simon who got not one but two girls. Yet it wasn’t all that happy-dovey or pure fluffness, especially after what happen to Max. It was realistic, it was hard and magical. It was perfect. Cassandra Clare not only promised but actually delivered. This book is right now number one on my list. I’m quite looking forward to read The Infernal Devices Trilogy, because after this, she can only get even better.

I'm not entirely sure why this is my favorite book. I suppose that I like stories about a particular place and the way that it is briefly defined by the characters that exist within that place. After all, I don't think that the places that I have lived in my life are inherently interesting, but they become fascinating because I can place them in the context of the characters that I knew, the things that I did and the way that I stretched out in them and lazed about. The small, everyday things make enormous differences in our lives and this is a novella about those things. I think that this is the funniest book I have ever read and I am frequently inspired by the characters. I recommend it to everyone. And if you like the character Doc, seek out Steinbeck's essay About Ed Ricketts.

I love to read about ordinary people who devote themselves to worthy causes and accomplish great things! I can't say I particularly cared for the writing style of this book. There is sometimes a tedious amount of detail where I don't want it, and really sparse information on things I do want to know more about. Especially near the end it seems to drift into the realm of chronological history, or a list of facts, more than an interesting relation of events and human interaction. I appreciate this book primarily as a springboard for interesting conversations, and as an avenue to some profound thoughts. And I recommend it as a way to expand your "awareness".

Summer is a fortyish, recent divorcee, who wants to rediscover and reinvent her solitary sex life. She is an average woman, not a porn star wannabe, not cover model gorgeous, or someone who thought they were overly adventurous. This is the start of her journey to erotic self awareness. I will be totally honest about reviewing this book. I ventured forth with a lot of trepidation. This was a “new 2 me” author, and a self published one at that. I have had some less than pleasant experiences going down that road. The story is also in first person, which for me is especially uncomfortable when reading erotica. This was certainly a welcome surprise. This was absolutely one of the most beautifully written and tasteful pieces of erotic literature I have gotten my hands on this year. It did not fall into the trap of using graphic language and terminology to cover up lack of imagination or writing skills. Don’t get me wrong, the words aren’t sugar coated or Victorian euphemisms, they are just used appropriately and in the correct amount. In this first volume, we get to know a little about Summer, and her initial contact with Mark. We get to watch the relationship unfold from the very beginning. I still can’t determine if this is fiction or not, and that just adds to the fun and mystique of the book. I was absolutely hooked and invested by the time I finished this book. If you are tired of the same old, same old in women’s erotica, then I definitely recommend this book. It brings a very welcome freshness to a growing genre that desperately needs some new blood.

I thought this was such a lovely book. Endearingly narrated, the book tells the tale of a teacher who gives up everything and ups sticks to live in the Solomon Islands and help with the community. It is a really captivating and charming story with a narrator that you can't help but love. A nice easy read and comes well recommended.
Let me just start with the fact that i love baseball. I read this book because I wanted to learn more about this living legend who played the game better than anyone else. Nolan Ryan holds a record for most pitching records, thats how many records he has set and broken. Anyway, Nolan wrote this book before he retired witch I thought was interesting. The many chapters he writes are all meaningful in the spirit of life. He has so many opinions and he throws out what he believes in. He criticizes himself and talks about what he can do better. He explains rough times in his childhood. He is just a very understanding person and I can totally relate to him. He has a Wife named Ruth and lets just say he is in debt with her. She put her life on hold so she could raise kids and have a family. And in one chapter he says that when he retires he has some catching up to do. The majority of this book though is what got him to where he is today. Hard work, hustle, love for the game, being humble, and respect for the game. All these pieces to the puzzle he had to put together to put him in the spotlight he is in today. I absolutely love this Book~!!!!!

I led a Bible study for several college students, and this book helped take away all my fear of leading the study.

Not my favourite Jane Austen novel, probably because it features one of her youngest heroines, 17 year old Catherine Morland. What Henry Tilney sees in her is beyond me!
