I must have read every Goosebumps book when I was a child and sometimes read one a day. This edition is three seperate stories, all about haunted camps. When reading these books as an adult you can wonder if these types of books are really suitable for children, but I feel that it means a child can experience a wide range of genres at an early age and begin to establish their own preferences. Most of the stories in the R.L Stine Goosebump series use similar words and techniques to build the tension and suspense and although this could be seen as a negative I feel this adds to their charm. This is because as a reader of the series you begin to realise when something is going to happen but you never know what. The negative I found with the Fright Light Edition however was that it came with an in-built lamp that encourages you to read the stories in the dark to raise the fear. This lamp is quite poor however and believe it could have lead to eye strain for many children when it was introduced.
This was a cute, easy, fun read. I read all three of the Beach Blondes books in a couple weeks.. they were very hard to put down. Not the most complex characters or storyline, and sometimes it was pretty unrealistic, but I was looking for something light to read during school, and this fit the bill perfectly.
My copy of this is now filled with pink highlighter. For instance, the smell of modern evil as rotting oranges, "It is raining, Anita Huffington", and a two page rant/theory that covers Hassan ibn Sabbah's project through the alien conspiracy to deprive us of immortality. i'll read part 3 after next year.

Third Parker novel, about 20 more to go. I could get through that list in no time, but I think I'll space 'em out a little.

not as good as ill lit, but still very good.
why is everyone so crazy for David Sedaris? this book filled up the time when my train was delayed, but that's about all. it entertained me, but it's forgettable. it raised a smile, but it's hardly laugh-out-loud funny.

chapter 11!
probably the bible of self-harm studies, and I have found it extremely helpful overall. But I do find something lacking, and I think that would be a touch of human, a personal story to make the clinical more accessible.

While this books makes clear the food choices it most strongly advocates, it remains throughout very reasoned, objective and realistic. Even though I’ve read several books of this nature already, this one is perhaps the best when it comes to valuable information coupled with an accessible style and approach. The authors study three standard avenues to purchasing food (as well as the diets commonly attached to those purchases) and then scrutinize the impact those food items/diets have on your health, the animals involved, and ultimately the environment: *Wal-Mart, Kroger, Safeway, etc. (Factory Farming, Agribusiness, standard-American diet, etc.) *Whole Foods Market, Trader Joe’s, etc. (Free-range farming, Organics, Fair Trade, compassionate omnivore diet, etc.) *Local farmer’s market, family farms, etc. (Sustainable farming, vegetarian and vegan diets, etc.)
