A little more hippie than my taste, but pretty good. Basically a butched up more masculine version of a philosophy book.

Todo empieza al levantarse de la cama desasosegado. Sucesión de personajes reales, con vidas reales y problemas como todos. Buscan el amor, lo encuentran, lo pierden, lo cuidan...Gran novela.

In an alternate universe, a young naval officer fighting in the Napoleonic Wars finds himself the keeper and pilot of a highly unusual member of England's dragon fleet (yes, you read that right). This novel, the first of a popular series (and currently available for free here: http://www.suvudu.com/freelibrary/) is being adapted to the screen by geek-god Peter Jackson.

good start to a new series. I really enjoyed this book - although sometimes the descriptions got a little long.

Outside Sanctuary is an intense erotic story with a BDSM element. Stephen leaves Sanctuary to find some peace and quiet in his own head. Instead he meets Darla, a human. The attraction is instantaneous for both of them. Darla’s tired of safe and gentle sex. She’s looking for someone that can take control and give it to her rough. Stephen’s so excited that he’s found a human that shares his desires for rough sex. In fact, he’s so excited he continually ignores all his clan rules. Stephen finds out the rules are there for a reason, but he lets Darla share in his world for a little while. Their sex scenes are hot, erotic, and descriptive. I found the ending to be realistic of a one night stand or quickie. Cyna Kade did a nice job with this short story about a clan member’s exploration beyond Sanctuary.

The only thing I didn't like was the abrupt ending. I had a couple more questions that weren't answered. Other than that it was a fantastic book.

Wow. So, the catch line to this book is: What if the chosen one fails? That he does not defeat the great evil that he is prophesied to defeat? Well, Brandon Sanderson plays on that thought like no other. And that, is why this book is very good. I do warn, it is a little dark and depressingly evil in some cases, but it is a so good. Elantris had an underlying theme about Truth, and Mistborn has an underlying theme about Hope. I will say no more other than: Must read!

I really enjoyed this book and found myself laughing not only with him, but sometimes at him. I could totally relate to this dysfunctional family.
Several professors at Grinnell College (IA) and Union Theological Seminary (NYC) assigned books by Mircea Eliade, the historian and anthropologist of religion, for their classes. Except for his book about time, Cosmos and History, I found them so redundant that I got the impression that he wrote the same book again and again. The problem may have been that the instructors were all assigning introductory level texts. Perhaps there are other, more advanced texts which would have impressed me more. I have not read, for instance, his dissertation on yoga.

I am seeing a lot of mixed reviews on this one and personally, I really enjoyed this book. I guess I enjoyed it most for the fact that it was completely different from any other NS book I've read. If I can't put it down, it gets 5 stars from me!
