I just started reading this book a couple of days ago and I've already really had my eyes open to the influence the church and anti-semitic teaching has had on how people (including myself) perceive Paul/Shaul the Pharisee/missionary of the bible... So far, I've learned that Paul did not leave behind Torah observance (which is indicated in scripture), and that He did not teach against Torah observance... but he was lead by God to teach non-Jews how to have a relationship with the Lord . ... anyway I'm only on the 3rd chapter and it's been incredibly eye opening... looking forward to the rest!

The only word I can use to describe this book is "amazing". If I didn't know any better, I'd say Audrey Niffeneger was high when she came up with the concept of this book, but somehow it works beautifully. Incredible storytelling that speaks to the imagination and characters you'll love.

A really fun story. Jacobs decides to tackle the goal of reading the entire encyclopedia, in book form. The sceptor of the daunting leather bound volumes makes it a nice, almost quaint, contrast to our technologically advanced age. The 'setting a kooky goal' books sometimes stike me as a ploy, an undertaking set out upon by people who want to write a boook, but wouldn't otherwise be interesting enough or creative enough to do so without a gimmick. Having read some of Jacobs' work in Esquire, which he edits, and other pieces outside of this book I know him not to be a one-noter. He comes across as a genuine guy with a quirky goal that ends up impacting his life and relationships in interesting ways.

This is sort of like a mix between the Southern Gothic of Charlaine Harris mixed with the Southern gentility of Laura Childs' Tea Shop mysteries. very intriguing, and Bree is a good main character. I think this was a little short on explanation, unfortunately, for an opening of a series, but the mystery was really deep--different from other first books I've read. Looking forward to the next one.

When I wanted to learn basic brushwork this book really helped me out. It's a great guide and it's easy to follow the step-by-step instructions.
This book speaks so clearly about life, and for someone like me, the truest words always come from a child. It's powerful, it's important. Read it.
excellent read takes on a different position rather than the Mathmatical postion of the investment markets and all highly improbable events. this book was technically refreshing that not all things can be explained by math
