Nigella Lawson is no Julia Child, but when it comes to what to cook and what to eat, she has a better sense than most. This is a good introduction for beginning cooks who just want to make good food. And maybe find their inner food slag.

** spoiler alert ** This book was so cute. I loved it. It was centered around the myth that if you kiss a frog, he may just turn into a prince...or you may just turn into a frog. lol.

Apparently I'm not in the norm with my rating of this book, but I didnt like it. Typically I have enjoyed C.S. Lewis' writings, but I just felt so disengaged from this one. It is a really quick read if you're interested.
This book was amazing. I couldn't put it down. The shear determination to survive during the time of Nazi Germany amazes me. This book has some depressing parts, but all in all it was a great book.

Merdle is the 19th-century Madoff. Casby is the 19th-century sub-prime mortgage lender. I love the premise of how detention and release from debtors' prison really does nothing to change people's essential characteristics. And of course I enjoyed the love story, as sexist as it is. I read this book (which I have had on my shelf for years) because Masterpiece aired the movie in April. Can't wait to get the DVD from the library and watch it again. (Someone else has it out, curse them.)

A memoir of his white trash life and a confession of his need to prove himself worthy. Bragg waits until the end of the book to tell his war stories of his reporting days. He wrote some amazing stories in Haiti--makes me want to learn more and visit there some day.
It only took me about a day to read this book. It seriously won't let you put it down. It was really good, though, and, no surprise, better than Twilight because this is actual literature. There was foreshadowing and everything. lol. And Damen is officially one of the hottest imaginary guys......ever.
A little on going review as I read: Houston! We have a Dark Fae Hallows problem. Oh, hello, hello, Christian MacKeltar! How is your uncle and his purple trews? There have been several "LMFAO" moments in this book. I like that. And then.... That one, big, "WTF" moment at the end when the real shit really gets real, and the end of the freaking world happens... and... Shit. I think: "Can my trust in authors' judgments ever be restored? Will this be the last book I EVER read? EVER?" And I really liked Mac in this book... Tune in later today as I review BOOK 4. But I need to sleep first. After staying up well past 3:30AM, with my Kindle and a little dying book light, flickering in my hand, scanning, sweeping over the page until I freaking finished...

** spoiler alert ** I loved Sapphique until the last few pages. In other words, the ending was garbadge. I can't believe anyone would rather stay in the prison than stay Outside. It's still a prison, even though life Outside is pretty bad. I was very disappointed. I felt that Catherine Fisher could have made up a better resolution, like, one that actually resolved the main problems.
