It haunts me. Finally a post-apocalyptic book that haunts me. Like "The Road" was supposed to - but didn't. Bleak but still passionate, I loved the reverse American migration to the East Coast and back to Europe. And I really felt the anti-Manifest Destiny sentiment. If it is ever made into a film, Nick Cave should do the soundtrack.

I really enjoyed the way that this book was written. It is comprised of small vignettes and all tie together in some way. Really well done and just a good book all around.

This was much better than the first one. It actually followed through on the plot points. I know that the whole Jean-Claude thing gets dragged out for another book or so, but I hate it. I just want them to get it on NOW. :D

We read this every day. OOOO! Snuggle puppy of mine! Everything about you is especially fine! Lucia likes to smack at the pages; she also enjoys the "Ooo"s and parts where she gets a kiss. I think she would give it five stars.

This book was tons of fun, and a little different twist on a genre I enjoy. The protagonist falls for a sexy, smokin' hot demon (more like a dark angel, if you ask me...) and they are badasses together. Not too sure how she gets herself into some of the stuff she does, but it's fun to see her come out of things ok. Reminded me a lot of the early Anita Blake books by L.K. Hamilton, but I like Dante Valentine a hell of a lot more than I did Anita, right from the start. We'll see where the rest of the series goes...
What a wonderful book. I love historical books, going back in a time where society and appearance was the most importance. I'm left wanting more now I need to find Rumours so I can find out what's going to happen next.

An ok novel. First project for this author. Pretty shallow story with abrupt ending with many questions left unanswered. Would not suggest- unless you are looking for mindless beach reading !
This was a fun read. It is a historical novel about the Borgia Family that takes place during the Renaissance in Italy. Those were the times when everyone was poisoning everyone to try and get to the top.

The four or so stories in it were OK, very reminiscent of the style of Brothers Grimm, but they were well written and easy to read. I would, however have loved more stories rather than half the book being filled with Dumbledore's opinions on the stories and their backgrounds. I guess Potter fans would like that though. My favourite story was still about the three brothers and Death which was already told in the Potter books.
