** spoiler alert ** I seriously disliked this book. It's been written in order to please everyone - no-one dies, no-one gets hurt, no nothing. Everyone is alive at the end, Bella and Edward has "miraculously" gotten a baby girl and Jacob imprints on her. First of all - For some reason, all of the sudden being a vampire isn't bad at all - in fact, it's better than being human! So I guess all the things Edward said about him being a monster were just forgotten. Very, VERY annoying, seeing as I was looking forward to Bella becoming a newborn vampire. Bella's graceful and beautiful, has amazing vision and feeling, and everything is just wonderful. Not so bad to be a vampire all of the sudden, eh? Then, the volturi - what the hell happened?! Where was the battle?? All this endless build-up for an epic battle, and the only thing that happens is talking, and then the volturi simply just leaves again. No-one dies, which was dissapointing, 'cause I was really looking forward to see some courage in Stephenie. I WANTED her to be able to kill off some of her characters. I wanted the death of Alice or Jacob or someone meaningful, because it is a natural part of life, and the good ones don't win without sacrifice and devotion. This is what makes a person good. Because they are willing to fight for their believes, because they are brave and devoted to their beliefs. And don't even get me started on the baby part. It was so surreal and way, way too unlikely. I know fantasy is supposed to be unlikely and, well, fantasy, but this was pushing the story too much. The whole idea of Bella having to choose between her being able to having kids and being steril all of the suddenly doesn't matter, because she can - apparently- have kids with a freaking vampire. And I'm just wondering - why the hell didn't they use condom? The whole part with Bella having sex all the time and being immensely selfish and ungrateful is also just way out of character. By the end of the book, I was really tired of her and Edward - Edward was giving her all his love no matter what. That isn't true love, as some others have pointed out in other reviews. Love isn't about giving someone encourage and devotion blindly. Bad, bad message. All in all.. very, very bad book. Destroys everything that was nice about the series, and twists it into a very unlikely, and quite frankly, boring ending, where everyone is happy and carefree.
merges religious studies and postcolonial theory to interrogate the politics and subversions of colonial conversion.

I really like the Camel Club series this is the most recent book and I put off starting it because I thought it would be a disappointment after four books the series would just seem like it was dragging on plus what would the book be like if it was missing one of my favorite members of the Camel Club? but it was just as good as the previous books.

Funny, but not great. It doesn't read like a book, really. It's not something you can get absorbed in, but it was fun to read some of the lists of weird words for things.

Awesome and hot!!!! It´s been a very long time since I read Shelly Laurenston......but this book was a great way to rekindle that relationship. Love her shifters!
I hate Alexander McCall Smith's Ladies' Detective Agency books, but I LOVE this series. It's so cool that it's printed as a series in the newspaper The Scotsman and the different characters and their inner thoughts are hysterical.

I'd previously read The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time by Haddon, and loved this. I'd seen this book many times, and thought I should check it out - finally I did (also checked out a YA book by him; a bit too young for me as it turned out but I'll be posting a review of it shortly). This novel is both funny and sad. It's funny in the way that life can just be funny while being so sad at the same time. Although I did laugh out loud a lot at the wry British humor. This centers around a family - and a wedding, which tends to bring out a lot of uncomfortable feelings, whether we'd like to admit that fact or not. Both weddings and funerals do the same; people can get rather ugly at them because all of the tension comes out somehow. You have to navigate around family members and friends, some of whom you may not have seen or communicated with in some time. There's a lot of awkwardness. Haddon does a wonderful job capturing these awkward tense moments. The book feels realistic, almost as if you know these people. You probably do know these people in some way or another. I found myself endeared to this family as they navigated their troubles, hoping that they would somehow find themselves in the end. If you experience awkward family situations, or enjoy reading about them with a touch of sarcasm and wit, then this book is certainly for you.
