Dawkins at his best. If you think the jury's still out on evolution, you should probably give this one a read.

i wanted to add this because it's a heavy emotional touchstone for me. it is about a poor girl who had an *extremely weird* kidnapping experience when she was 11. the book takes place when she is in high school, cutting class, taking acid and hanging out for the first time with her friend vicky talluso. the trip causes her to "re-live" the violent experience she had when she was eleven, in her own voice. there are even these crazy illustrations, though it's not a comic book. i would definitly consider this as a precursor to any aimee bender, shelley jackson, or kelly link book. cruddy also contains reflections on crud, family life, city planning, and even love. you have to read it as a joke or else it will bash your head against the wall. dan chaon had us read chapter two in fiction class, and later i found it in mudd and checked it out. smart idea, rebecca.

So enlightening. Lots to think about. This is an amazing book. I have never thought about the life of a kidnapped person...let alone who has and raises a child while in captivity. Amazing from start to finish...and I will never listen to the news with the same naivete again!

Was my least fave of the three, but I definitely wanted to know about his relationship w/ his mom as an adult, so it was still an interesting read (although the stuff about his marriage I found less interesting...).

Poe se sumerge en la novela para adentrarse en un viaje delirante hacia mundo que aguardan ser descubiertos. Una ventana siniestra a las obsesiones del autor.

Okay - if I was ever in the mood to read about Samurai rabbits, I would pick this book up again. Stan Sakai is a great story teller and artist. I feel too old to still read them, but this series had a major impact on my childhood. Plus, Stan Sakai sketched a picture of Usagi on the inside front cover for me. He's a good man.
