More smashing good fun from the mystical land of Zamonia.
** spoiler alert ** This was my favorite movie growing up, and still is today. It has everything you could want from a movie: a handsome and brave hero, a beautiful and lovable heroine, two awesome sidekicks (who really make the movie, I mean what would this be without Fezzik and Inigo), two very unlikeable, but necessary antagonists, and of course, love, comedy and adventure. So, it is hard to believe that I waited until now to read this book, but I am glad that I did! Reading this made me feel like a kid again. I had forgotten just how much this story captivates me! What I loved about reading it was that it gave me so much more of the characters, especially Inigo and Fezzik; I love them both so much!! Getting to hear more about who they are, the circumstances that brought them to kidnapping Buttercup, and then helping Westley to save Buttercup, made this story even better! And, they way the Goldman tells the story is amazing! It is a fairytale wrapped in a "retelling" wrapped in a story of a man's love for this story; how great is that! Goldman does something so unique here, and it really makes the story so much better. I had no idea about the whole Morgenstern part of this story until I started reading it. He had me fool for a second. I was like, wait I always thought Goldman wrote this? I went as far as looking Morgenstern up, and consequently found out that he wasn't real. The topper on the cake for me, was him bringing Stephen King into this novel. He is one of my all time favorite authors, and the addition of him into the novel gave me goosebumps! It was like this book was meant for me, that sounds very conceded, but that is just how much I loved it. Right now my friend is reading this book, having never seen the movie. I am so excited for her fresh views on this novel, and I can't wait to share this movie with her. The characters coming to life are amazing! I love that Goldman wrote the screenplay, and that he fought so long to make it perfect, because it truly is. The casting was perfect, and even though it is not as good as the book, because what movie ever is, it is a perfect addition to the Princess Bride world. Thank you Goldman for such an amazing story and movie! I will cherish it forever.
another winner! Shakespeare's King Lear re-imagined as only Moore could. narrated by Lear's fool, it's clever, lewd, and hilarious. easily my favorite next to Lamb.

Jill's
This book is about a family who lives forever by drinking from a spring. Then a little girl named Winnie finds out about there secret. Will she tell everyone about this spring or not?
This was an excellent book to describe the aspect of family. The book also contrasted city and farm life. The pictures were phenomenal. Like all Clifford books, the friendship between a dog and it's owner was presented.
