I actually didn't finish it.. 144 pages in we were still dwelling on the victim's gloves. This story moved like molasses in January. It was so tedious I finally gave it up. I have read all 17 prior books in this series, and I am sad to say I have seen a general trend of darkness entering these stories. Psychologically damaged characters, digging into details ad nauseum, weaker and weaker plots. I am sad to see this because I have always enjoyed this series. I don't think I'll be reading any more Scarpetta novels.

it's a beautiful story, about the small beauty, and sadness, of peoples lives. It's also nice to have such a strong female character.

I had just finished the Baroque cycle by Neal Stephenson so it was a subject i was interested in (London after the great fire 1666). Very interesting, informative and a nice book too (good illstrtns).

This was my childhood. Not really the book but the movie. I have been watching the movie for like 10 to the infinitith power. Just for the record, this was the first hundred-paged book that I read. I really like it because I was sooooo into it that I didn't realize our Math class was still going on and the thrilling part seems so real that someone just tapped my shoulder and I literally jumped from my seat. This book gave me one heck of an embarrassment and a fun experience! A fine read!

I love Bartleby. And I think that's because I will never really understand him.
Main character meets a rouge pilot who shows him a new world of fantastic possibilities. Gives him a book that leads him to think hes jesus, or that maybe everyone is jesus, or whatever. Basically the self aggrandizing that was Johnathan Livingston Seagull masturbates itself into an ever frothier novel length self copulation. I dont know why i was fascinated by this genera, im not one to believe there are other world then these. But when bachman starts talking about how we all hold some genuine worth i dident want to brain ever 3rd person i came across with a shovel.

Oddly enough, it took me EXACTLY one year to finish reading Les Mis! Crazy. While I love Jean Valjean's story, Victor Hugo was badly in need of an editor. Although I've often looked down on abridged versions of books in the past, the unabridged minutia with which Hugo clutters the story was just a bit too much for me. No one needs to know that much about Parisian sewers. No one.
Pretty corny, but a fun Sunday afternoon read.
People always tell me to read this book. I found it interesting but hard to connect to. I think of it more as a historical document than a piece of literature.
