I liked this enough to pass it on! Loved the ending... out of the blue and yet could be tracked through the book once you knew the outcome.... ingenious!

A good book. I enjoyed Hale's Goose Girl so much that I couldn't wait to read this one. Although this book started a little slow in the beginning for me, I loved the journal writing style used by Hale to tell the story. Dashti's character is very well built, but I found Lady Saren not very likeable. The ending is great...and happy.

I've never been particularly fond of ghost stories, but honestly, I loved the way Tara Hudson told this story. Because of the spin on ghosts, I found it to be very original and well-written. Though a couple scenes left me confused, I loved the vivid descriptions in the novel. I also fell in love with both Amelia, the strong female protagonist, and her love interest, Joshua. Both grew nicely as the story progressed, and their interaction was beautiful. I'm looking forward to the sequel!

Surprisingly good memory of the more innocent times of the X-Men. Times when they don´t recruit Canadian assassins and bald hags not murdered mutants by the millions. The original line-up of X-Men are still teenagers and Xavier their mentor. No betrayal, losses, or dark undertones. Only eight issues of old good superhero fun. It's good that Parker does not attempt of some epic saga (which could be stupid in this case), but gives to reader eight stand alone stories. My favorite is first one and that one with Lizard-Man. Cartoon art of Roger Cruz is suitable for this stories but I can´t imagine it in "normal" X-Men stories. Covers are great. As regards Parkers writing, hope that I will read some of his other comics soon.

The movie was much better than the book. The movies named was originally "Death Train" but was changed to "Detinator". MacLean died while writing this book. It was completed by his understudy. I think that is why we lose that Alistair MacLean flavor in the book.
