Lily was just another average young woman but one bite suddenly changed her entire life. After the incident, Lily has no idea when something mysterious appeared in her life. Even when she was taken to new world made and meet the guide. It had happened many times but I felt like she did not get connected to it. Her past even her memories never revealed about it. Once I was desperately looking forward to it. Not only about that stuff, one thing that make me wondered and knitted many questions such where this book would take me. Because I almost read more than 100 pages but found no great intrigue . Thanks to my big curiosity. I was not that into Lily. But I enjoyed all chapter which told me about her relationship with her sibling, Taynia. I almost cried a tear when something changed between them. In the end of the book, Jason was another character that make me curios. The Blood Moon of Winter is a quick and light reading. None of the words or phrases inside that made me confused. Although it's new for me and felt a little bit weird about the whole ideas in this book, I found it interesting. Before reading this book, what I kept in my mind about the goddess was only linked to the Greek myth. The process of becoming the goddess in this book also absorbed my attention. I liked the way Courtney created and determined her own way about it. I was little bit sad when I was in the last page. I thought I would find the ending. I just knew that there will be the second book. I hope I can get the chance to read the next series of this book. I want to know what will happen to Lily, to her family and absolutely her favorite author. Cover: I never thought that Lily's tattoo would be drawn that way. I was thinking that it surrounded her body only so it could be hidden. I wish I could see Lilyana closer.

Fairy tale characters and fantastical creatures are hiding behind vellum pages in this unique novelty book. For those who like I Spy games, they will love this new take on the hide and seek format. Creatures such as a unicorn are hidden in silhouette on the right side, but when you turn the page, the creature that was hiding is show in full color. I am interested to see if Nick Sharratt finds another creative use for this technique.

I overall liked 'Word Freak,' but many times throughout reading the author would get very, I guess you would say, "technical" about his descriptions of the Scrabble tournaments and the game itself, and my attention would drift. It's not a bad read, but unfortunately, I think this is one of those rare instances when the movie was better than the book.

The start of "Enclave" by Ann Aguirre was good but then it went flat in my opinion until the last 160 plus pages when I was gripped by it so much that I could not put it down. Wow! It was so good; glad I did not give up on this dystopian novel. There is a teen romance in this like in Hunger Games. One thing I do know for sure, I'll be reading the second book in this trilogy! I fell in love with this book as a young teenager. I re-read it periodically and still find it satisfying. I did not recognize the strong feminist theme for its time period until I was older and had developed my own feminist leanings. All I knew was that I admired the main character and her integrity. I also related to Jane's relationship with Helen Burns which was similar in some ways to mine with my sister. At a time when I was feeling gawky, it was gratifying that the main characters were not considered attractive by society's standards.

I'm really loving this series! After getting to know Calvin and Lucy in book one, I loved the addition of Ella to book two, and her relationship with Calvin's brother, Loyal. First off, I just love the name Loyal. :) It's old-fashioned, but it's not cheesy. His name was very suited to his character because he was indeed very loyal to Ella. Ella, on the other hand, also had characteristics that drew me to her - quiet, gentle, and eventually, not a pushover. She grew as an individual from page one all the way to the end. There was also the addition of one more character - Dorothy - and she was just flat crazy. She had this desire to completely control Ella that was seriously disturbing. I really disliked her by the end, but that dislike was proof that the author really did a great job creating her character. Just one more book remains - The Survivor - and I can't wait to read the finale to this great series!
