I loved the way it was written. I little disappointed that it wasnt all true, but still a good story.

Jane's dedication was immediately enough to rip my heart out. Other things rip my heart out too - about how something saved was eventually killed because of another human factor. I did not love this book but I love the intention - there is no hope, however, especially for birds. So long as human population growth continues, nature doesn't stand a chance. 3.5*
Author comes across as spiteful and vindictive to the NYY organization. Especially when the reader finds out the Yankees justifiably fired him from his job with the club. Plus, what happens in the locker room stays in the locker room, I always was lead to believe.

This was 2 books in 1. The first was Island of Flowers and the second was Less of a Stranger. Both were decent love stories with the typical amount of sexual tension.

This is the first book I read when I moved to Los Angeles after college.

This book was very interesting in a sense that it allows you to read about three people's perspectives and their own individual experiences during the war in the PI. I think this book will be good for people searching their identity/wanting to know more about their heritage.
** spoiler alert ** OMG! The best of the Cirque du Freak series so far! It was so amazing! It had betrayals, and deaths, and fights, and action, and drastic measures, and sadness; in this short book, it had everything a good book need. Spoilers! OMG! Arra died! I felt so bad for Larten and I wanted her to live and I so thought she was going to! I mean Larten thought she wasn't going to die and she did and it was just sad because she was one of my favourite characters! Good old Seba. How great of him to believe Darren when he most needed someone to believe him. He is just an awesome old vampire. RIP Gavner Purl(is that how his name is spelled?). He was a great part of the Vampire Mountain family and he will be missed. The wolves were so amazing in this book! With Stripe and Rudi back, I missed them ore than I thought I did! They stuck with Darren while he was trying to get back up the mountain and when he was healing and they were just ah-maz-ing! But.. wasn't it awkward when the she-wolf was feeding Darren? It was for me, and no, not because I'm immature. Screw him who will not be named! What's wrong with you! Betraying everyone like that! You deserved to die! Bleh! Darren was made into a prince! Yeah! I had a feeling he was going to be made into a prince since no one wanted to kill him for his bravery and what not and the title of the book was also a hint. And there are pretty much two awesome things about him becoming a prince: he doesn't die and everyone will like him since no one was against him becoming one! And lastly, my theory. The Vampaneze Lord is named the lord when a vampire, vampaneze or human goes into a coffin of flames and comes out alive, right? SO, he who will not be named said that a human went into a coffin and came out unscathed and alive. I BET IT WAS STEVE! I am so sure it is. And I am freaking out to know if it is him because when I assumed it was him I was freaking out and telling people it's probably Steve who don't care so if I find out it is Steve, I can freak out some more! But I bet it's Steve. I bet Steve is the Vampaneze Lord. Spoilers end! Anyway, this book was an awesome-ass book and kept me at the edge of my seat! Best Cirque du Freak yet and i can't wait to read the next book!

What a great book. I love the span of centuries and the tale of this woman's journey in the early 20th century. Great book!

Oh my, what to say about this book? I think perhaps the members of the Newbery committee were smoking crack the year they awarded this a notable "Honor." It's not that it was awful - from a middle aged woman's perspective at least. It's just that it's one of those dry, slow, and very, very dull stories that teachers assign to kids in school, ensuring that they grow up to hate reading and groan the next time they're forced to pick up a book. That being said, I happened to almost enjoy the long rants describing the Welsh countryside, and even tolerated the somewhat lame story of the ancient bard, Taliesin. And even though the kids spoke like miniature adults from England (when in fact they were a tween and two teens from America), I grew to care for them a bit, too. So all in all, I didn't want to kill myself over this one. Still, never make your kid read it - or else, suffer the inevitable consequences (see paragraph 1.)
