A brother and sister fool the local children and then some adults into believing they can contact the dead without contemplating the consequences. Mostly enthralling. However, there were a few strings left untied at the end cocerning some secrets the main character learns about her family.

This was an excellent book. Many people took the Italian adult ed class that was held in the evening at the school. They all interacted in this class and were tied together as they pursued one need or another. They all traveled to Italy in the end and were bonded forever.

OK, first off I really love this series. I loved this story. However, I was really upset about the "love triangle" development in this book. The guy I've been rooting for took a major slide backwards in Hannah's opinion/affections during this investigation. Granted, it was a well-deserved slide backwards . . . but I don't have to be happy about it.

entertaining... educated... enlightening
This book reminded me so much of the movie How to Lost a Guy in 10 Days, only better. Instead of two people making ridiculous bets with their friends and co-workers we have the formidable Madame Hooch and her unpredictable predictions and mysterious ways. I really loved the characters in this story. I liked Gemma and thought she was a great character. I liked watching her grow through out the story and I loved her antics with Nicholas. Some of them were out right crazy and funny. And Nick, well Nick was just swoon worthy and such a great guy. It was hard not to love him and feel bad for him and sometimes even want to slap him. This was such a fun book that was hard to put down and read well quickly. It was definitely a great story and I will be looking for more from the author in the future.
Now that Webmind has begun to interact with the rest of the world, and Caitlin is discovering what it means to be a sighted teenager, they are both discovering that there are many things out there of which they should be wary. The government begins watching them, aware that Webmind could have significant influence and power, with great repercussions if he chose to abuse that power. I liked this even better than the first book, preferring the focus on the social ramifications of Caitlin’s vision technology and Webmind. I also really enjoyed the political intrigue and the romantic interaction between Caitlin and her socially awkward boyfriend. This was Mr. Sawyer at his best, typical with his writing once he is well-entrenched in the middle of one of his strong stories.
Yes, it was a little cheesy. And very contrived. And no, I didn't see the movie. But, if you are going to Paris, it is fun to read this book because you can compare the locations in your mind's eye to the real thing. Going to the Louvre had a different significance for me. The book does not require great concentration from its readers; I read the e-book version while on the plane en route to Paris. It was sufficient diversion from the boredom of travel between visits from the beverage cart. It is not great literature and isn't meant to be. It is a a travelogue with a little heresy thrown in.

This book rules. An absolute MUST read. The closest thing to a successor to Hunter S. Thompson that we have today, methinks.
i loved this book. a little slow starting but a fascinating story told through seven people's perspectives over the course of many years.
