I liked it, but didn't love it. I think I started reading something else before I finished and never went back...

This is the best of the series so far but I have two more books to go. I loved most everything about this book even though some parts seem to drag. I have to say Ms Frost is ballsy. The thing with Cat and Bones, the death, Tate's future and the traitor. I can't wait to see how many heart attacks she has in the next book.

** spoiler alert ** She leaves the whole Adrian situation too open-ended for me. And after she cheated on him I really didn't care about Rose anymore. So frustrating.
One of my favorite books to teach in high school. The students really get into it.
More pretty than anything else - I'm sure I'll have to read the rest in the series to get more into this style of writing and the story itself.

The mysteries and storyline of this one were enjoyable. I find I can't read these sequals one right after the other, because they are too repetitive and they move slowly. But I really enjoy the meandering thoughts of the characters-it makes me feel normal when I am thinking about something weird and out of context while others are talking-I guess others do it too.

hands down one of the best introductions to The Craft and ancillary bodies.

This book is totally a freak-out. I love gothic Victorian lit. "Sensationalist Novel"... one ghost leads to crime, poison the works! Count Fosco is the ultimate villan. PS- one of the main characters name is Laura
This is a fine introduction to Catholic theology in which the late Frank Sheed offers an accessibly and very orthodox explanation of the Church's fundamental teachings. His way of explaining the Trinity - the central mystery of the Christian faith, yet one of the more difficult theological concepts to articulate - is especially noteworthy.

I didn't finish this, although I tried mightily. The basic idea Sam Harris sets forth here is that morality is universal and that the morality of actions can be measured by how they affect the well-being of sentient creatures. He acknowledges that different actions or lifestyles can be equally moral (he calls them "peaks and valleys in the moral landscape") but he says society has gotten too lenient on foreign cultures and letting people get away with immoral behavior because "it's part of their tradition" or whatever. Americans don't get off that easily, either... He gets into how rotten Christianity can be towards the end of the book, according to my book club friends who got that far. Although I agree with most of what he says, I gave this one two stars for two reasons. First, he has a habit of saying "x can be proved, but I can't prove it right here" a lot. Also, this thing reads like a philosophy text book. I know the author is a neurosurgeon and very smart, but I felt that his brainiac writing style alienates the average reader.
