This was great. Her stuff isn't quality literature, but she tells a good story, and makes me laugh the whole way through.

Sometimes the text is a little dry but it could be used in story time with the bubblegum song. The illustrations are fun and colorful. E664.6 MCC Full of fun historical facts, this book is the true story of how bubble gum was invented.
My favorite of the Jane Austen novels. Fantastic character development (as always) and great storyline.
Wow! Jon Krakauer's first-hand account of the 1996 Mount Everest Disaster is equally thrilling and horrifying to read. I love the amount of detail that Krakauer offers to the story. Interestingly, he spends a good deal of time talking about altitude's affect on the mind, and as most of the story he is recounting took place at such high altitudes, he is framing himself as an unreliable narrator. This only makes the book that much more interesting; as Krakauer labels certain individuals and decisions as blameworthy- Individuals whose decisions were, no doubt, affected by altitidue- it leaves you wondering how much his own perceptions and story were colored by the altitude and it's numbing effects.

Every kitchen should have this classic. Probably more suited to someone who has a good grasp of the basics of indian cooking.

Though touching at times and an encouraging story overall, it was a quick light read which made it a little difficult to get immersed into it. The story was also predictable at times, leaving you somewhat unmoved at the outcome.
Classic, must read!
i read this because i liked the lovely bones so much. but it was the biggest most horrible letdown ever. disturbing, boring and pointless.

Let me level with you: initially, this book weirded me out. I received it as a gift in the mail via Amazon after a dinner I’d spent with a colleague 30 years older than me. We’d consumed a bit of wine, and the conversation had shifted to the Now. Said colleague, I know, has enjoyed his fair share of mind-altering substances. I respect Huxley, and I'm sure the doors of perception, can, under such circumstances, open. I always figured, though, that what was brought back would be incomprehensible to me. My first impression was that Ram Dass had fried his brain in the ‘60s. However, I kept reading. Eventually, I grew to appreciate his message: be here now. In the end it was no more sinister than that --- and it was that same reminder presented in a few hundred pages with convenient illustrations for those orbiting the moon while reading. And after I dealt with the weirdness of the visuals, I got into it. Well worth reading.
