Since I began reading urban books at age 12, Teri Woods have always been my favorite author. I remember going to the Barnes & Nobles in Center City just to see what new book she had out or co written. I read just about every book Ms. Woods have written. I loved every one, except DEADLY REIGNS. Deadly Reign is about three siblings. Damian Reigns a Harvard educated business man with GQ looks who is the leader of the Reigns family billion dollar drug enterprise. Damian, a Princeton graduate who is the families lethol weapon protecting their business at any cause, and their older sister Princess who is caculating, manipulative, and proving she’s just as deadly as her brothers. DEADLY REIGNS follow the Reign brothers as they try to outsmart the FBI and their deranged sister Princess who is obsessed with taken over the families business once again. Meanwhile the commission wages a war. The FBI try to locate missing agents and take down Dante and Damian. In a last effort to take down the Reign brothers, the FBI send in Agent Grace who is a beauty, sent to cast a spell on Damian, make him fall in love, and tell her everything about the billion dollar drug enterprise. Sounds interesting? Reading this description of the book you probably want to read it. WARNING: DO NOT OPEN! Deadly Reign takes to long to get to the point. The story seems to go in circles, and it sounds cliche. When I opened Deadly Reign I was drawn in. Chapter 1 started off with much violence and actions, so did Chapter 2-4. As, the story continued I found myself becoming bored. I remember thinking when will the story end. Yes there were a few killings and thrilling moments but I was still not satisfied. It was just taken to long to get to the point. When Darien walked around killing members of the commission I was like ok, and. Why was he killing them? Why are they partners in the same commission but hate each other? How did Damien take the family business away from Princess? Many questions were left unanswered. The story contained so many words but said so few. I thought there would be more of a story to tell. I feel the story took to long to get to the point. It took the story 30 chapters to get some kind of excitement. When it did become interesting the story was ending and it was a to be continued. Have you ever read a book that repeats the same information over and over again? Deadly Reigns was one of them books. It kept going in circles. Teri Woods kept repeating the fact that Damien and Darien had beef with the commission, how wealthy they were and just as deadly. Alright I get it!It went back and forth. Between Princess plotting on killing her brothers to Grace who was a nervous rack fighting with herself on should she continue her mission on taking Damien down or should she throw it all away because she has fallen in love. Each page seem to have the exact same words, it got to the point were I could just skip about five pages or a chapter and didn't miss anything. This book was really a "page turner". I had to turn the page in order to finish the book. Cliche is a word I'd use when describing Deadly Reign by Teri Woods. It was one of them books that sound all to familiar. Since I read almost every Teri Woods book I started to realize her style of writing. When your someones fan you could spot their work and compare some of them. Deadly Reign in my opionion was a cliche of Dutch: The First of a Trilogy, and Angel all by Teri Woods. Damien and Darien both were created based on Dutch the main charecter of Dutch: The first trilogy, All three charecters had the same swag, both educated, and deadly. The books had the same plot. Both books had drug lords who were feared by all they were on top of the game and somebody were trying to take them down. In Dutch that person was Attorney Anthony Jacobs, in Deadly Reign it was the whole FBI unit. The charecter Princess was based off of Angel the main charecter of Angel by Teri Woods. They were both manipulative, street smart, and didn't care about anything or anyone but money, power, and respect. Both these books Dutch and Angel were rolled in to one forming "Deadly Reign". In conclusion, Deadly Reign was not one of Teri Woods strongest books. It takes to long to get to the point, it goes in circle, and sounds cliche. It took the story 30 chapters to get some kind of excitement. Each page seem to have the exact same words, it got to the point were I could just skip about five pages or a chapter and didn't miss anything.Deadly Reign sounded like the two books Angel and Dutch:The first of trilogy. Dutch Angel were rolled in to one forming "Deadly Reign". Deadly Reign sounded like the two books Angel and Dutch:The first of trilogy. Although I am still a fan I'll say try harder next time
