I enjoyed this book, and found it very charming. I thought the author did a good job portraying a 9 year old boy's point of view. But I HATED the ending, it ruined the whole book for me.

Wow. #23 Charlotte and Thomas Pitt Novel. This one is just waiting on my home book shelf for some lazy day reading. I always loved Anne Perry and actually she would be someone that I would like to meet. She has a website. http://www.anneperry.net/ , and she was in Paris last fall for a book signing. Wouldn't that have been lovely.

A great collection of some lovely stories, with very nice introductions by Silverberg himself. Not everything is on the same level, but overall a really, really enjoyable collection.

Read this one (again) on my way back from Sri Lanka. I had forgotten some of it. Movie versions cover P & P fairly thoroughly, but they leave out quite a bit of S&S. What a shrewd, tough mind Jane had.

I can see why it was groundbreaking, but I think that it's status as a "classic" book is only because of the writing style. The story isn't that great and although I know the language was supposed to be edgy, I found it slightly offensive. I view this book as one of those that has it's place in literature because of what it did to change the world of writing when it was published, by the book itself is not that good.

Heavier than the first two books. Solid complex ending for a great, complex series. SPOILER But I am sad that Zane had to die. I kept wanting him to be brought back to life. They can make weaponized psycho teens, can't they bring him back to life? But the weight of his death didn't feel wasted. It seemed a necessary loss in the war and for Tally. Still made me sad, though.

Along with The Hobbit, this is a classic fantasy novel/series that's an instant must read. In fact, there's nearly no point in my writing all this down, so let's just get to the point. Plot is solid and good. Characters are solid and occasionally amusing. There's only death and violence that's not detailed. Good: Everything. Bad: As mentioned with The Hobbit, it has a slow beginning, but get past that and your in for an adventure. This goes for all three books in the series. So if you haven't read it yet, GO READ IT!
