This book gives you a view behind the scenes on Wall Street during one of the biggest LBOs in history. It is a very onteresting read to try and understand the thought process of people who have billions of dollars at their ready to buy/sell as they please. It also shows how relationships and greed can pervert the pure market to get less than ideal results for the common man. This is even more important book to read now with Mitt Romney using his time at Bain as qualification to be President. The one negative to this book is that it is overly detailed and precise. I thought it dragged on at times with mundane detail.

Aside from a little Brady Bunch inside information, this was really a story about a truly dysfunctional family and the dark side of "Hollywood." But I admire her for writing it, so it's worth reading.

This book is very good! It shows the life of celebrity Briitney and Jamie Lynn Spears and how they deal with thier Fame. Thier mother wrote this book from her point of view. She did a really good job writing it. I have to say that these two girls went through alot. This book tells you about the things that you can't read in a magazine. Brittney has had so many people in her life that tried to nothing but bring her down. She ahd this guy that she met and he claimed to be her frind but all he did was hide her cell phne and controlled her every move. Her mother was really worried and treid to help her but Brittney had a meltdown. She got her kids taken away, shaced her head and lost her Aunt Sandra all in the same year. Her mom also talks about the pregnacy of 17 year old Jamie Lynn and how hard it was for her. But jamie lynn had her baby and named her Maddie Briann.

How much do you know about Greek myths? You don’t have to know too much to enjoy The Lightning Thief, but it sure makes it more fun if you do! Percy Jackson is not a terribly normal kid; he’s been to six schools in six years, has major dislexia, and strange things seem to happen to him all the time. (If this is starting to make you think of Harry Potter, it’s kind of similar, but not a clone by any means) Turns out, Percy is even more not normal than even he thought; his dad is one of the Greek gods. You know, Zeus and Ares and Poseidon and all those guys (and gals). So Percy is a demigod, and he’s sent to a camp for other kids like him, located on Long Island. He has an adventure/quest to go on with two good friends, and after some twists and turns, makes it to the end of the book. Riordan peppers the book with references to different myths and traditions about the Greek pantheon, which make the book even more fun. My favorite was Percy’s sojourn to the Lotus Casino - he “loses track of time” playing games and eating great food, only to find that he’s spent 5 days in the casino without noticing - an homage to the Lotus Eaters section of Homer’s Odyssey that I was forced to read as a freshman. The Lightning Thief is a great adventure with likeable characters and some neat twists. The best part? It’s Book 1 of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, so there’s more to come
