This book is a weird cross-genre mash-up: a supernatural black comedy. Lots of funny and inappropriate dialogue, some action, and a surprising amount of actual emotion about the characters. Even though most are hapless and less than heroic or tragic, I found myself genuinely caring what happened to them.

This book was a decent read. Not a 5 star book though as many people on amazon gave it but overall it was interesting. It was well written but at the end you still are left with many questions. You do know though cause you will be told many a times that the victim was an angel and I am cool when a writer says that but not constantly please. This was a senseless crime and after I finished reading I am still left with many questions as were the detectives and family. I give it 3.5 stars

This is one of those books that I am glad I read but I wish that I hadn’t. The title says it all and it is a heart- breaking true story. In her powerful 2010 autobiography, Nujood, tells her story which has at the heart of it a Middle East custom that the western world, no matter how hard we try, will never be able to understand or come to terms with. In Yemen almost half of all the girls are married under the legal age. This brave child bride ( a tiny little 10 year old)escaped from her abusive husband and his family and found her way to a court house. She then demanded a divorce. How this divorce finally comes about, and the courage of this tiny child is truly amazing. Hillary Clinton has call her “one of the greatest women I have ever seen”. I agree. Written with a youthful readership in mind, it is a quick, powerful read. 4 stars

Many mentionings about Korean comfort women in Okinawa, too.

I'm not very experienced in poetry, but for me this anthology was a good start. There's a plethora of content to work with, a lot of prose and structure to comprehend, and going through the entire volume was generally a satisfying experience for an unaffiliated person such as myself. However, this being an anthology, more specifically being limited to 500 poems, there will probably the inevitable lists of poems that were been left out, and the entire volume may be left uneven because of some of the lesser-known poems that were not included. However, the fact hasn't pained me so much to the point where the compilation wasn't worth the investment to complete. In the end, I tended to view this anthology as more of a starting point to assist in even more discovery of fine poetry.

This is book two in the Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series. While I enjoyed book one, book two is considerably better. The story continues where it left off except now the twins and their entourage are in Paris. There is lots of excitement, adventure, magic, mythology, and uncertainty. The plot is definitely thickening and once again the ending is a bit of a cliffhanger. This part I don't like but book three is due for release in May.

Sổ Tay Viết Văn Tiếng Anh - Trình Độ Sơ Cấp Thư viện Sách hướng dẫn

This isn't one of my favorite James Patterson books. However his writing style combined with the short chapters is enough to keep me reading even when I'm not 100% into the story or characters. My problem with this book was both the story and the characters. Detective Michael Bennett is certainly a likeable enough hero, but I don't find him that relatable. I'm just not sure that he's the kind of hero I will follow through a series. I liked "Step on a Crack" enough to be curious about the next step for Detective Bennett, but I'm not sure I'll continue to follow him. Ten kids was a cute idea at first, but I don't think that story line is conducive to a series. I'll never remember who all the kids are because there won't really be time to get to know them individually. As for the story in this book, it just never grabbed a hold of me the way some mysteries do. I didn't find anything particularly interesting or inventive about the crimes or the perpetrator. As someone who reads a lot of mysteries and watches a lot of crime dramas I'm always appreciative of a storyline that surprises me. I love it when the author weaves a tale I didn't see coming. This story is completely predictable. I was disappointed with the final few chapters too because I found it difficult to picture the sequence of events during the big climax of the story. When I finished the book I was glad to be done so I could move on to something better.
