This was by far one of my most favorite books by Pike. It has the most interesting premise of several teenagers waking up to find they are the only inhabitants of their small town. Everyone else is gone, with no signs of what may have happened. It is one of the creepiest of his books, with a little bit of Agatha Christie style suspense thrown in, and the characters are all people you feel connected to. I won't say more as I'll keep the spoilers out, but this is in my top 5 favorites out of all of Pike's books - 15+ years later and I still remember this book vividly.

Simply the best book ever written.
It was a good read... a little bit exagerated... didt surprised me too much but liked it. Not the best work from Dan Brown.

I dabble into this collection at times, sometimes glimpsing genius and other times sighing in disappointment.

I loved the second book, even more so than the first. It was interesting to see the changes she undergoes in the fight to understand what she truly is. I love the characters in the book, her two friends/roommates, the not so yet boyfriend (even though I'm a Lucas fan myself), Holiday, Burnett, and of course the pet cat Sock turned skunk. There are moments where I find myself cringing because they act so young at times and it brings me back to my own teenage years (urrgh!) But overall it was a very enjoyable book that I read in two days. I'm ready for the next book and I only have to 5 months (AHHH!)

I feel like I was hooked to this book for the first like 50-100 pages as we learn the story of Kavita giving up her daughter to an Indian orphanage so her daughter can live. While on the other side of the world we learn about Somer, a successful doctor who can't have children. Their two worlds collide as Somer and her husband (who is also from India) adopt Asha (Kavita's daughter). The first part of the book was gripping and such a sad reality of what happens in India and to those who can't have kids. However, the book started to drag for me in the middle, but then it picked up when Asha went back to India as a journalist intern and started looking for her birth parents. It didn't end how I expected but I thought it was a good ending. I think I just didn't like that the book covered Asha's childhood up to her 20s. I just couldn't buy into the existing familial relationships since they weren't developed.
Esto me fue dado como un regalo de graduación universitaria. Tiene extractos de las autobiografías de todas estas mujeres increíbles de todos los orígenes y campos.
