Ehrenreich's Nickel and Dimed was a very bold and interesting way to look into the low-class workforce, by simply joining it yourself. I believe that she was brave in dropping her life to go and try to live the life of the low-class workforce and some of her points and ideas were very spot on. When she brought up the topic of how each job has its own social world, with people talking about others and warning the new people, Barbara, of the creeps at that job, I thought this was correct and a slight comic insert because it is very true, along with every other point the states in the book. But with this book I mainly see the repition of complaining of work, and I believe that almost every American has been in the low-class workforce from one time or another and has experienced similiar events that she did, so I found this a struggle to read through for myself. I do admire how she went out to find the story and expierence herself instead of just trying to imagine something that probably wouldn't of been half as good as what she really came up with.
I'm reading it right now and it seems to be a great book
The bronx has a very interesting background. The book starts with the first immigrant group that came to the bronx and follow along with the subsequent transitions in demographics. She provides a history of how the bronx started from a high point all the way down to it's horrible condition in the 80s and then slowly back up to where it is now and where it continues to improve.
The Bentleys Buy a Buick by Pamela Morsi is a delightful romance that is sweet, humorous and, sometimes, a little poignant. To read this review in its entirety, please visit http://thereadersroundtable.com/mains...

what i don't understand about this book is the target audience. most of the time i was quite sure that this was meant to be a childrens book and for the remaining 10% of time i was quite sure that i'm way too young to read it. overally i liked the plot but i was really shocked for the ending of the first book(one for sorrow). not my favorite book in any category but if i understood correctly and this was authors first published book, then it's "respectable"
It was an okay read, I think it could have be a lot better if the author expounded on the solving of the murder a little bet more and that the characters took their time to reacquaint themselves to each other, bottom line I think this story was rushed.

It is a romance with all the elements you expect... It did have my crying at one point. Very typical chic read. Great excape from my text book I was reading!
This is one of the books I read my senior year of high school which really turned me on to reading in general, and the short story in particular. Borges' short fiction is as near perfect, clever and imaginative as could possibly be; his realization of the impossibility of being unique in any true sense of the word is the source of this strength of a writer. I say this because since he takes that premise in hand, he has no fear as a writer tackling questions of infinity, eternal life, the meaning of dreams, etc.
