After failing to kill Dmitri, her former guardian instructor-turned lover-turned evil Strigoi, Rose is now the hunted as Dmitri continues his quest to "awaken" her (as a creature of the night). I loved the locations in this book, back at St. Vladimir's for "final exams" and gradation, the royal court, and a few interesting far-flung locales. Rose walks a fine line between trying to move on with her life, while examining the possibility that Strigoi may be "healed" with Spirit magic. Adrian has an interesting, if limited, part- he truly is a sympathetic character now, and Lissa also gets to take a more active role. In the end, it's shocking and intense. I loved this book and devoured it in one sitting.

This book has really stuck in my head - it seems that just about everything reminds me of something in this book. I love the perspective from which this book is written, and I really like how Christopher calms himself and how he explains everything he comes across. It really felt to me that Christopher was real.

I sure wish George Bush read this book.
