This book had nice illustrations. The author talks about her childhood visits to see the rock art. She also discusses a little bit about who made them and what the images mean. We didn't read the text through; I just read bits and pieces here and there and we looked at and discussed the pictures and what they could tell us about the people who drew them. A nice book, but not 'the source' for learning about the Anasazis. I'd use it again for the pictures only.

The last in such a super fantastic series; we're a little bit sad. But, no fears, the first in Flanagan's new series is coming soon!

I decided on a rating of 3 out of 5 stars for this book. I really vacillated on my feelings regarding the book as I read it. On one hand, Melanie Benjamin obviously did extensive research and seamlessly blended the research into a book of fiction that felt very real and was easy to read. On the other hand, I just could not, as hard as I tried, like the main character-Vinnie. I wanted so badly to like her and I felt enormously for her struggles. However, she only thought of herself, never of those around her. She had a desperate need for fame and I felt that this came before everything else, even family and friends. By the end of the book I was simply frustrated with her and could not feel any further compassion. See full review at: http://theinsomniacbibliophile.blogsp...

I did NOT finish this book. I decided that it would be a completely waste of time after reading a third of it and still hadn't gotten anything useful out of it. Not because there wasn't anything useful in it´. But because it was so unbelievably pretentious that I hardly understood a word of it. Obviously Michael Hicks is extremely smart and knows a lot about the Wars of the Roses. He just doesn't have the talent of conveying his knowledge. If I hadn't known just a little about the people and happenings of this era I would have been lost long before I was.
Tim spends more than 200 pages and 4 hours to explain only three rules: thou shalt - hire remote cheap assistants to do your work; - live in cheap country; - sell "information goods" - those useless marketing bullshit packs you've been tired of already. I was banned in Google AdWords trying to follow the third rule. It is safer to read the book as sci-fi of a kind. Read at your own risk.

I had to read this one in high school. I remember I did not hate it.
伟大的书,供孩子阅读或供父母阅读。 我认为这可能是我父母给我读的最好的书。
