Evening book club pick for April. Just ok. Certainly not the riveting, thrilling read that most of the reviews said it was. I thought the ending of the plot was just kind of tacked on. Recommended for book clubs with older folks or people who love WWII-era history.

I think that Huxley was getting at many things that are modern in times. Though this fictional world he portrays is obviously a long shot from reality; there are many aspects that are only a stones throw away from reality. I was constantly thinking about everything that occurred as the read progressed and the ending really surprised me. The takes on GMO's, Drugs, and social life were all very creative and wildly imaginative. Sleep learning is an extremely interesting idea that most definitely could become a reality in the years to come. The take on religion made me think a whole lot and it seemed to make the brave new world nearly a parallel universe compared to the real world. I recommend this read to anyone with an imagination who is looking for a reliable source of entertainment.

I stumbled upon this book while cleaning up to leave from a Tahoe cabin. Random. The factoids on the back intrigued me - so I requested the book. I thought I might just skim through it - although a bit naturally disturbing it actually is quite thoughtful and insightful so far... I sort of finished the book. Again, very interesting and thought provoking. However, I couldn't finish it at the end with all the descriptions of experiments seconds after decapitation and animal experimentation. Good book but not good for those with a sensitive stomach.
Nick and Norah and their friends are refreshingly like real 18 year olds, sometimes endearing, sometimes caustic, but always snarky. Well-written and very entertaining--I literally laughed out loud more than several times. A great, quick read, and one that I'll definitely remember.

Interesting facts but slightly preachy. I didn't get to the end.

One of the most influential works on historiography in the 20th century, and definitely one of the most influential books in my own development into an adult.

Excellent even if you aren't on LSD, but arguably better if you are... i mean, so i hear.

You don't have to like Buffy to enjoy this.
I don't quite know why, but the ending paragraph of this book will probably remain with me for the rest of my life. I thought it was so touching and perfect the way it ended.

It's disappointing. I'm a huge fan of Korman, even though I should have outgrown him, and I love the first Bugs Potter book. But this one... not so great. I guess that's why it's long out of print and was pretty difficult to find a copy of. There's almost no continuity (it might be a prequel. I'm not sure) and the characterizations are less interesting.
