There's this part about eating in the first or second chapter that is very good.

Pretty good read! Four stories, all with familiar feeling stories. One with a "Tell Tale Heart" vibe, only with rats instead of a beating heart. One with a victim getting her revenge. Another with a "sell your soul to the devil" story, and still another with a what happens when the person you love turns out to be a psycho? Not terribly original, but all done with a satisfying Stephen King approach, which in the end, is what I wanted to read anyway.

I listened to this one. It was read by Oprah whose reading style added the appropriate dramatic flair without being over-done. I saw the movie awhile back. Now, it seems I don't remember much about the movie, but the book and the movie are quite different, so my reading experience was not tainted by the movie in any way. I thought the book was great. It was sad, but not too depressing for me. I guess it was because Astrid is such an intelligent, talented and self-reliant character and she uses those strengths to endure and escape a terrible situation.

not as good as the first one, but still a great mystery.

I carried this book the entire time during my trip to London. While this may not be the most comprehensive guide, it offered the whirlwind traveller some pretty good foot walking tours as well as the 'best bits' guide to popular museums. Handy and recommended.

One of my favorite stories.

Liked it better than the first...but still didn't suck me in the way the Twilight series did. I'll probably read the third book when it comes out but I'm not desperately waiting for it. I liked the new characters introduced and again, as the first, it's an easy read.

A Pulitzer Prize winning effort. A bit too detailed for me at times. Some truly interesting insights but slow going as it dealt so much with troop movements.
If you're a fan of movies that are so bad, they're good, then you've probably heard of Ed Wood. I didn't care much for the way this book was written: much of it is a collection of quotes/reminisences thrown together. I like the fact that the book gives a detailed filmography of Wood's "oeuvre" but I would have preferred more prose throughout.
