Don't be fooled by the reviews that say this is a book about an eccentric musician -he's a major character, but the theme of the book is more about memory and how we create our own versions of our lives. Very engaging read, just a little haphazard in spots...but then again so are our lives, right?

Like Water For Chocolate is an easy but interesting read. The novel is set in a Spanish village and revolves around Tita, the protagonist who is expected never to marry and forever look after her mother due to a family tradition. Tita however falls in love in Pedro - this book is a memoir of their journey together while being forced to stay apart. The book is split up into chapters by recipes which Tita prepares. Each meal has a significance to her moods and thoughts, which also affects the outside world. Whether it is magic, imagination or coincidence is never explained but left up to the reader to make sense of.

Now it’s up to Percy Jackson and an army of young demigods to stop the Lord of Time. An amazing conclusion to an amazing series. The Last Olympian has to be, by far, the best installment in the series! It was non-stop action all the way, and even where there wasn't any action, I was still so absorbed in the story because every little detail counted and I just wanted to soak it all in. New gods were still being introduced and the twists and the turns in the story!!! It made for really exciting reading and I just couldn't put the book down. The climax of the story really came as a surprise because I had no see it coming at all, and I was blown away. I was a little apprehensive that the ending would be a "all ends well" sort of deal and while it kinda is, it makes sense due to earlier developments in the story. There were a lot of sacrifices made, so one cannot say that the victory was an easy one. Epic finale! I don't really know if I wanna read The Lost Hero, mostly because I don't know if it's going to be able to live up to my expectations. Still, the Percy Jackson series was a very well-written one and I'm glad I was with Percy the whole way. :)
