This was a good book. I used to love The Boxercar Children. They were really good books when I was in about 2nd grade and up. They have a good plat line are sometimes funny and all around a good read. Anyway I recommened this book to all younger kids. ~Bookworm~

Yes, it was a little cheesy. And very contrived. And no, I didn't see the movie. But, if you are going to Paris, it is fun to read this book because you can compare the locations in your mind's eye to the real thing. Going to the Louvre had a different significance for me. The book does not require great concentration from its readers; I read the e-book version while on the plane en route to Paris. It was sufficient diversion from the boredom of travel between visits from the beverage cart. It is not great literature and isn't meant to be. It is a a travelogue with a little heresy thrown in.

Another self-indulgent, moderately wealthy, white bread woman comes of wisdom tale - insipid and boring. I can't even give it one star.
An overall, beautiful story.
Ultimately there was nothing very redeemable about the three main characters let alone any of the supporting cast. It was an easy ready and just entertaining enough to get me quickly to the end.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I bought this book, but I'm so glad I did! This is a charming foray into Golgotham, an other-where neighborhood of NYC that's home to centaurs, shape changers and all manner of magical etceteras. Tate, the main character, is 'just' an average human, but she's no less an interesting character for it. The most enjoyable aspect of the book for me, though, was the world building involved: Golgotham is very well developed as a place, has a unique culture, and it's a lot of fun watching Tate navigate its dangers. I do hope there's a sequel.
Bout time I got serious with some financial things - and this book seems pretty powerful, with down-to-earth advice on LOTS of different areas. I like the way the author has a no nonsense approach as well.
Imagine a radio that can take you back in time to the London Blitz as well as helping you solve a mystery in today's world...
So, we started the series with our hero being a young child, seeing him into a teenager. The second and third books have seen him meet our heroine and seen them both fully embrace teenage hormones. This book saw them grow into young adults, learning how to handle issues that they had previously been protected from. This book had everything. Drama, adventure, battles, humour and even a little bit of romance, in a weird, subtle Eddings way. I am very much looking forward to the final book!
