I read the book for my book group on Tuesday. Although I liked the beginning of the book where it explained how Grania coped with her deafness and the end when it returns back to Grania, the book went into too much detail about her husband Jim during the war.

This wasn't as hard for me to read as "The Kite Runner" because it wasn't hitting me on the head with foreshadowing. The same feel as Hosseini's previous book, with a different gender and trials, but with less irony and a bit more believable.

**Spoiler Alert** I love the BDB series, but this book was my least fav so far. I found it hard to buy why Cormina loved Phury. They barely spoke to each other for 5 months, but Cormina knows him so well even though she knows hardly anything about him? She thinks he's a great warrior but never read his book at the Sanctuary, only known him since he's been an addict...I will say though that I'm glad Phury got his HEA. I liked the other storylines happening in this book. The author does a great job of switching between lines and weaving them together. It's what keeps me picking up the next one in the series.

get some good sleep, take a few practice exams, and skip the books. the content is a joke. they're not testing your knowledge, they're testing your aptitude at taking a test. speed, speed, speed. this book's strategies slow you down.
Most of the Indian books I've read are written from a teenager's perspective, so this book was a pleasant shift for me. Kirchner turns phrases beautifully and brings out aspects of her characters that you wouldn't expect. There was much tension in the book around decision making, from arranged marriage to deciding what you're willing to compromise in your life.
Wasn't as good as I thought it would be. I figured out "the secret" way before it was given away in the book. A little too long for me, but It was pretty good.
I liked the idea of how the text was in the form of letters. I Loved John his character is so amazing and one of the best characters. The story captures the humour in journalism (and owing favors).

Totally kick-ass book with a good heart and pretty pictures. I still go back and re-read this thing all the time...not that it's really a huge accomplishment, the book being about 80 words long.

Definitely worthy of the Pulitzer Prize! The chapters alternate back and forth between various generals and leaders on both sides. Shaara used the memoirs of them (in particular Longstreet) as his prime source so although it is considered fiction Shaara limited additions to the story. A must read for anyone who enjoys American history; I thought it was great!

This book want very good...But i have to say it was sort of interesting!!!!
Warning: despite the title, this book has very little to say about wockets. If you purchased this book hoping to gain insight into the ecology and habitat of the wocket, you will be disappointed.
