Really fun book!

I enjoyed all the quirky characters. I was glad I'd read it before seeing the movie which followed the book quite well. It does read a bit like an article in a magazine but, to me, that adds to the allure of the book. It's non-fiction, written by a magazine writer, makes perfect sense! After I read it I really wanted to visit Savannah!
Most beautiful quilts ever!

I enjoyed this book, but would definitely say that it is for higher level readers and probably not appropriate for any grade lower than six. It also has more girl appeal, especially as it touches on some sad, sort of heart wrenching topics.

Another enjoyable book by John Pearson based loosely on his teaching of the third grade at an inner city Dallas grade school. His fictionalized account of one year in one of his third grade classes is told through the teacher, Jack Woodson's e-mails with his former engineering co-worker. Very entertaining!
Margaret Yorke never disappoints. Story a sad reflection of the those people whose lives are ones of "quiet desperation." Still uplifting and satisfying as well.

A page-turner of a murder mystery with an extremely compelling main character...plus great writing to boot! Jill Hathaway is an author to watch.
Innovative and entertaining but overlong and ultimately souless.
Read this in just a few days. Good memoir.

This book doesn't have a lot of out right action that you get with a lot of books, it is mostly from a researcher/detective stand point. I do like that it is academic sounding but not boring, the way the author writes keeps you engaged as well as intellectually stimulated. Kostova does a good job developing the characters and quickly allowing the reader to know the characters. Though the plot is slow to build it is anything but dull and boring. Kostova takes her time because of the overall story and how a quick plot build would destroy the momentum of the book. I highly recommend this book to anyone who doesn't mind 900 page books and for someone that is looking for a book to exercise the brain without knowing it is being exercised because it is enjoying the book so much. This book is well written and well worth the time it takes to read it.
