Great book! Fun read moves quickly with lots of twists and turns. Lots of suspense and a bit naughty in parts. Love the ending. Don't read the last page first it will spoil the book. When is the next one coming out. I love this Author.

** spoiler alert ** Have you ever read a book's description, think you understand what it's about, but then when you start reading it realize you had NO IDEA? That was what happened with this book. From the description, I was expecting a thriller/suspense novel with some horror elements. What I got was full blown Sci-fi. It was a bit of a shock, to be honest, but it was a pleasant shock. What I liked: - Todd. I was a bit unsure of him in the beginning, but I really came around to him in the end. He actually grew as a character, in a positive, believable way. - Viola, for the most part. She added a great element to the story and she is incredibly likable. -Manchee was one of the greatest supporting characters I've read in a long time. - The storyline. I felt the pacing was great for the most part and I wanted to know what happened next. At no point of the story was I bored. - Aaron was a great villain and the final scene with him was very well- written. What I Didn't Like So Much: - This is a bit hard to describe, because I know I'm NOT supposed to like it....but I have a problem with how some of the gender roles were presented in the book. Like I said, I know I'm not supposed to like/agree with it, but some of the character's attitudes were off-putting. - I don't like how bleak this world seems. Again, I know we aren't supposed to feel hope, just like Todd and Viola don't, but I still can't help but want to feel hope for these two. - I feel what happened to Manchee was a cliche. I knew it was going to happen and it definitely served a purpose for the story, but I still feel it was also predictable. The Bottom Line: I enjoyed this book. While I don't think it's going to be a favorite series of mine, I do intend on continuing reading the trilogy.

Book 2 follows Anna and Charles. They are still getting to know each other as mates and husband/wife. Charles' father, Bran, plans to make public the existence of werewolves in the United States. A meeting with other Alphas from Europe will take place in Seattle with Charles going in place of his father who is basically the Alpha of all North American Alphas while Europe does not have a high alpha. There is a bit of a mystery that takes place amid negotiations among the wolves. Anna is attacked by vampires using magic from werewolves. Another Alpha's mate is murdered my vampires and an Alpha is murdered as well. Blame for the last murder is intended for Charles who is innocent. Charles and Anna must find out who is behind the murders and attempted kidnapping before a war breaks out. Good book and a quick read. I read the first one awhile ago but enough was said in this one that I didn't feel the need to reread book 1. Looking forward to book 3.
