**NO SPOILERS** 3.5/4 stars I have just finished reading this book, and I have still plastered on my face a big grin of satisfaction! THIS IS SO. MUCH. FUN.!! I am surprised and delighted with Julia James. Practice Makes Perfect is definitely not your average chick lit/romance. Forget they fall-so-hard-so-fast typical of this genere. This is a solid, sassy, fast reading story, with the best snarkasm humor I have read in a while. And the romance ala P&P is absolutely HOT! "See, you just don't understand women the way I do, JD. They want it all : career, apple martinis, financial indipendence, great shoes; but at the same time - and this they'll never admit- they are drawn to patriarchal man who are dominant and controlling. That's the essence of the Darcy complex. He may be an asshole, but he's an asshole that gets the girl in the end." Pyton Kendall VS. JD Jamson: new-age hippy upbringing VS. priviledge and old money, "stubborn, button-pushing, Prius-driving, chip-on-your-shoulder, 'stay-at-home-mim'-is the- eight-dirty-word-thinking, feminazi" VS. " uptight, pony-owning, trickle-down-economics-loving, Scotch-on-the-rocks-drinking, my-wife-better-take-my-last-name, jerk" Battle of the sex, where opposite attracts, both lawyers, both working in the same firm, 8 years of pure passive aggressive HATE. Now they find themselves competing for the only position available as partner in the firm. Extremely hilarious, with scenes that will have you LAUGHING OUT LOUD, so hard, you will still grin just thinking about it. ( The tryal scene with Pyton..oh boy..hahaha!! 5 stars moment!) Witty banters and sizzling chemistry, is the cocktail that will get you drunk with giddiness till the very end.. an HEA with a big bow on top! If you are not a big fan of this genre but you want to try something lighthearted and funny, this is for you! DON'T MISS IT. INDULGE, INDULGE, INDULGE!!
Gorgeous writing. Great premise.

Read this as a teen, written in eloquent romantic language, surprising ending
Yes I am a 30 something year old mother that still reads Middle Grade books. And not just because I have middle grade kids. ;) This book had me from the captivating quote found on the very first page. Pick up the book or visit the author's website to find it. As soon as you read it you'll know which line hooked me. The depth of these characters and the plot were amazing. Eisley Jacobs kept me up late (seeing as I didn't begin reading it until my kids were in bed, the first time.) wanting to know what was going on between Meia the foster child and Deglan the dragon. The book did not disapoint or keep you waiting to find out one item for too long. She revealed secrets as they should come out, not to fast but not to long either. If your looking for a fun adventure to read with your children or for you kids to read this is it. This is my first review and I am having a hard time not giving anything away, I don't want to ruin any surprises!! Thanks Eisley for such a great book. So excited for November. :)
I'd forgotten so much! I like to re-read the books before the movies come out to compare fairly. I loved this book. I am so excited to read the last one!

Really liked the start of this, but it kind of fell apart at the end.
Can't recommend it enough!

This was one of the best books I've read in a long long time -- one of the best ever. I haven't cared so deeply about characters in a book for a long long time, nor have a felt so like crying at the end of a book. I can't recommend this enough. Incredible that this is her first book.
Religious undertones aside, I love the Chronicles of Narnia, I should explain that the star rating system is Narnia specific- I do 'like' this book, but I like it less than the rest. I just couldn't get onto 'The Magicians Nephew'. Bits of it were really interesting, and i was nice to get some background info. It felt more like a coffee table book, like something to pick up read a bit and then put down and forget about. I think because of this that the story sort of gets lost.
Overall the book was just ok. I liked it a lot better in the begining when it was mostly focused on flying. Toward the end I found the characters more annoying, they were always lying to each other which created a lot of problems.
