I really enjoy Micheal Swanwick's quirky sense of humor and the rampant creativity that comes through in all of these stories. I'd read some of them before but was more than happy to read them again.

The first 100 pages felt like a reading assignment but it picked up after that. If you have more than a passing interest in military strategy and ancient Rome you will enjoy this book about a seminal military battle.
This book has awesome slang from the time period. You seriously can not beat a mystery set in the 40's in New York for teens. seriously... coolest historical fiction I've read lately.

This is an old favorite of mine. Somebody made a Musical called "Pipe Dream", based loosely on the characters of the book. Never saw it, but have heard it's good. I found it a mad, sad, sunny, funny book. Read it!

I listened to the Librivox version of this, read by a volunteer. The sound quality wasn't great, but the reading was excellent. I also read a hard copy online so that I could catch the parts that were hard to hear on the recording. A very interesting poem.
I think having just read "The Help" that that was a nice backdrop to this book. The stories begin in the same time period and somehow my imagination was already attuned. Just a really fascinating story and the controversy over the HeLa cells just resonates over so many places. How it affected the Lacks family, how it gave birth to modern cell culture, how it influenced modern medical ethics. Really a good read.
one of Jennifer Weiner's best
More than 40 years after He started the story, Asimov comes back to the beginning with a second prequel that fills the gap between Prelude and the first 5 books. This one has Hari and his family overcoming numerous plots by governments and would-be governments to take control of Hari and use psychohistory to their sole advantage. You know of course from the other books that he succeeds, but this book sheds some light on how the theory of Prelude becomes the science that rules the others. I'm glad I finished the series.
Do not waste precious hours of your life on this book. The highlights include a roasted cat and the protagonist shitting herself in church. 'nuff said.
This book, centred around a drunken event between students and shows how many people become involved and effected by the actions of a few! A good read and believable. One of Anita Shreve's best books todate I think.
