I thought the first half of this incredible book was more engaging than the last half, but the structure, the varied narratorial voices, the sheer scope of this book was engrossing and believable. I loved the epistolary portion of the novel the best, because Frobisher's ideas for the composition clearly echo the author's own vision, as well as the never-ending stream of hi-jinks and mishaps made for some seriously funny reading. One of the themes which becomes apparent is the danger of mindless acceptance, the viability of revolt, and the brutal reality of either winning or losing that revolt. Slightly pollyanna, it is still a thought provoking novel and a welcome author to follow.

This book is about how a girl is in love with a guy who lies to her that he is in college. Then he rapes her and leaves her with HIV.Then in this book it shows everything and the process of her having HIV.As you know HIV develops into AIDS which is worse.Nancy is living her life knowing that when HIV or AIDS spread she can die.I like the book even though i hate when Nancy is just writing random stuff in her diary like waht happened in school and stuff beacuse it boring. This book can be founded in Ms Lacy library in room B407.ENJOY!

I let the borrowed audiobook expire over the holidays, so this one is back on my to-read list.

A fantastically "fun" and "light" book I read over two days on a beach in Costa Rica. Perhaps it was my mindset or the ocean waves (or the local Costa Rican rum) but the book was just one of the most pleasant and easy going of Thompson reads.
I would recommend this wonderfully written book to adults and high school teenage girls as well. Anyone who loves Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet will particularly love this book. Fortier skillfully combines her own modern day adventure/romance/mystery with historical fiction and Shakespeare's version of the tale of the two young lovers. I did not want to put it down! Definitely a highlight of the year to date!

This book really shows how people's views on one another can change when you decide to open up and mingle with each other rather than sitting back and judging the other person based on their race..

A beautiful and simple book that gives a human face to how people dealt with the mass destruction after the bombing. I love it when non-fiction has narrative style.

This one is pretty hard to swallow. Not recommended for those susceptible to reason. I gave it 1 star because the ending kicks ass.

I really want to say I liked this book but I read it ages ago and can't remember a single thing about it, except that the tree that grows in Brooklyn is actually a weed.
