I would probably have given this a 2.5 if that was an option. It was entertaining enough-- but I found it a little simpering at times. I did appreciate his honesty about his choices in life, good and bad and it definitely got better towards the end. But during some of it, I was wondering, "Where are you going with this?" and I didn't always get that answered.

I still can't believe I hadn't heard of this book until I was 30. But what a great story, very powerful. You ask "what if?" and "when?" Excellent feminist literature.
predictable. figured out what the story was about, and the plot twist, by the 2nd chapter. at least it's slightly better written than da vinci code.

It was a typical Grisham page-turner, so I enjoyed it in that sense. However, it was definitely written with a political agenda in mind. I don't want to give away the book, but the agenda definitely drove the entire story, and the ending was a bit anti-climatic because of it. Since it was fiction, I would have written the ending to be a little bit more sensational, but that wouldn't have served the agenda well. In summary, the agenda was not so distracting that it wasn't a good book, but it was noticeable enough that I could tell that he started with wanting to make a point and built the story around it.

I started this book not expecting much but being spurred on by a review by Maggie Steifvater who is one of my favourite authors. I see a lot of proofs in the Supernatural YA category, but this one was a new and very clever addition to the genre! The love story is present but isn't overpowering. The characters are genuine and easy to believe and the plot keeps you guessing. A must read!

What a journey! This story takes you through time and explores what true love really means and how far you are willing to go to discover it. Fantastic and can't wait for the last book!

Loved it, Loved it, Loved it. Just read it, it was great!
The only reason why this didn't get 5 stars is because... it's cute... and the dangerous man/hero of the story is more... cute than dangerous. He's got some gritty scenes, but all in all... he's like Pierce Brosnan as 007. Entertaining.... not really bad boy material. The mythology surrounding this story/series is really interesting, and woven quit well through out the plot. I would definitely recommend this book to someone who enjoys the more traditional romance category. Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy reading the story- let's just say, if you like kickin yourself in the rear first thing in the AM with extra strong coffee done straight (as in black)... this would be... hot chocolate. With whipped cream AND marshmellows :)
I did not get very far, there was way to much right bashing. I did not expect that the authors were only looking to "bring out the truth" on one side of the policital realm. Both have faults and that was not expressed in the book. (I am hoping that I am wrong and it changes as the book continues but I did not have the patience to even look.)
I remember really enjoying this book, but not many actual details. It may be time for a re-read!
