Overall I thought the concept of this book was fabulous. However, about halfway through the story seemed to change direction and become an entirely different book- more "kids on the run" than "girl with strange powers". This was an interesting change of pace for me, and sometimes that can be nice, but I didn't much like how this book approached it. That may just be my natural bias towards fantasy talking but regardless I will most likely not be reading the sequels.
