Maybe I'm biased because this book is about three sisters and I am one of three sisters, but I loved every word of this. It's a very talented writer that can make her characters do some terrible things and yet still remain likable. Beautifully written.

I love C.S. Lewis! I first read this book as a teen and I never forgot that Screwtape felt it was a particular victory when he got his "temptee" to pray without kneeling. For quite a while afterwards I made an effort to kneel when I prayed! This is thought provoking and well worth the read.

I read this during my trip to Africa. It wasn't that great (the book, not the trip. The trip was amazing!)

This book was a wonderful amalgation of the nostalgia and awesomeness of 8-bit videogames paired with hip art.

Could NOT finish this book. She killed it with meanless scenes and narative and discriptions that seemed to serve no purpose other than to increase page count. I have tried reading this book three times, and never get any further than the time I tried reading it before. I agree with with person that said the book needed editting, because it seriously does take the author about four pages to say that Cleopatra took a swim.
Too random. There were all these different stories and none of them tied together. I gave up 1/3 of the way through. Not interesting at all.
A pleasant surprise. Most of Balzac's best work has been re-translated recently by Penguin, Oxford, or other publishers; but for this gem, you have to go back to the 1890s and early 1900s when Ellen Marriage and Katharine Prescott Wormeley were the only games in town. This short novel is one of the set of two known as JEALOUSIES OF A COUNTRY TOWN (the other member of which is AN OLD MAID, also worth reading) tells of the youthful indiscretions of a scion of a provincial noble family and how his irresponsibility comes close to destroying his family. There are some nice scenes in Paris, especially with the delightful Duchesse de Maufrigneuse.

No estoy seguro de cuál fue el bombo con este libro. Estuvo bien. Y bien, en el mejor de los casos.
