I love Lancaster's humor and her self-confidence. She made me laugh. She made me recognize a few things about myself. She also made me wish she was my next door neighbor, or maybe not, since she has a habit of calling 911 on her neighbors.

I was clearing out my books a few days ago and found this book and realised that I'd never read it. I started it straigh away and was a bit bored at the start and then he hooked a fish and I was gripped. It's an extraordinary bit of descriptive story telling. An old man holding a huge marlin on a line for three days. It's such a simple story but so well told. You can feel every cut and taste every bit of fish. My back was aching by the end just from reading about that line across his shoulders. I was trying to think of some really good classical music to read this too. It deserves something grand and dramatic.

Perfect book for the first grade students, it has photographs of next to explanations different phases of water. Also, it has “words to know” in the end of the book which students can use to remind themselves of definitions of the new words.

I really enjoy all of Patricia C Wrede's books but this one suffered from the same highlight-reel feel as the first book. I really like the concept of the alternate Wild West, but this could use a little more meat to the story.

This is actually my second time reading this book, but the first time I read I was 13 or 14 and I wanted to read it again cause I know I didn't get all I could out of it then. And I was right. This was so much creepier than I remembered it being when I read it the first time.

This one is more of a prequel, telling us a story of Henry the 8th's first love, his love of Katherine of Aragon and the theory of a lie that changed history. Awesome!

It's disturbing in the funniest way possible but something inside of me shook its finger at me whenever I started to laugh. In any case, I’ve been on a memoir kick lately but this book is the only one that felt too messed up to be true.
Muller's anthology of conservative thought (also on this list) is far less biased when it comes to interpretations of religion, moral duties, and personal freedoms. I think Kirk is fairly dogmatic.

I've been told this book is sad because all the kids lifes are so empty. What? There are so many people out there with real problems; starving and addicted to drugs while being raped repeatedly by wild dogs, come on. Rich white kids doing coke and sleeping around do not deserve my sympathy.
