This novella as part of the Oberon series is wonderful. I am a big fan of Lucy's in the series and I absolutely love Dan. This novella is a look back at how Dan and Lucy met and fell in love. You get your first taste of Oberon and some of the characters as well. I read this before starting the series and loved it so much that I immediately read Scent of the Roses. I highly recommend reading this series.

Set in the Night Huntress world, with a short appearance by Cat and Bones and slightly longer one by Mencheres, Devil to Pay works much better on its own than it did sandwiched in between regency romances in it's original release in [[ASIN:B001NLKY7O Four Dukes and a Devil]]. Storywise, Devil to Pay manages to get the job done even in the shorter space, the leads are both likable and sympathy stirring, and there's nothing like impending death to spur a relationship along. I liked the ending but wouldn't have minded getting to bask in the after glow of the happily ever after just a bit - but then that's the nature of shorts. On the whole, Devil to Pay ends up being a nice little tidbit for Frost fans who missed it in its first incarnation, but Frost brings in just enough of her world so that the story will still work for fans-to-be.

I loved it, just like i love almost all of Cassie's books, cause CoFA was sort of uh.. disappointing. I looked up like stuff bout the book and found out how much research Cassie put into this book, and it really shows, and i loved all the quotes especially Pulvis et umbra sumus, read the book to get the meaning. Will is a lot like Jace, dark mysterious and beyond handsome, and Tessa has a lot of answers to answer like Clary, so basically the series are both alike. Though in this one te love triangle is like tougher to determine, cause like Jem and Will are both great, and handsome, and shadowhnters, so like ya. I like both of them.

The first half of this book is one of the creepiest, most suspenseful things I've ever read. Not that much actually happens, but I just really needed to find out why the main character is so... off.

If the book “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time” wasn’t one of the choices for this month’s read, I would never have picked it up. When the book was first published it got rave reviews but somehow the subject matter and the point of view it’s written in just didn’t appeal to me. I think I still feel this way. This book was, for me, just an okay read...a sideline diversion from the mystery and crime novels I’m so drawn to these days. The book is well written. It did grab my attention, make me want to find out how Christopher’s story of the murder of Wellington the poodle is resolved. I don’t know a lot about autism so it was interesting to live inside the mind of someone who has autism. How accurate it is, I don’t know...but, honestly, I’m not curious enough to find out more. All in all, glad I read it. Now it’s off my list of books that other people keep recommending to me...my daughter being one of those...she raved about it. .

Yet another extremely entertaining, dark yet funny, violent, twisty turny novel by Lansdale. I enjoyed it, but there were possibly 5 or 10 too many plot twists. Still, a very entertaining read. Lansdale is a fantastic author. This book reminded me a bit of "In The Dark" by Richard Laymon.
