I liked this book because it had a lot of info of the mexican revolution. The characters were all fun to read. It confused me a lot sometimes since there was about six different characters and it was hard to keep up with the characters. The photos were a great addition to the book because then you can visualize how the characters looked. This book talks about love, family, and much more.

Not that impressed. Waaaaaayyy too much going on for this story. A psychic Jewish-girl pretending to be Catholic all the while pretending to be a boy who just happens to meet Queen Mary & Princess Elizabeth? Umm . . . lay off the herb.

I'm a big fan of Malcolm Gladwell. He has such an interesting way of looking at the world and his books are intriguing. Especially for non-fiction. Really, I hated to put it down! This book explores the sociology of success, making you consider successful people in a whole new light. It have given me a lot to think about.

One of the best contemporary poets, and a smart one. She does have this annoying habit of being ... sloppy?.. when it comes to her prosody. But that's ok, she blows me away with her "negative capability," womp.

This book isn't in print anymore but you can sometimes find it online. It's beautiful, urgent revolutionary poetry. Brand writes it like few others can. I remember wanting to read everything else she'd ever written after finishing this book.

This book was written by Robert Louis Stevenson. It is called “The strange case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.” It is a very interesting story of a very well educated man who has a double. Dr. Jekyll suddenly becomes Mr. Hyde (an evil man that although was not as ugly and terryfying as people describe him, is a horrible man in the inside.) Dr. Jekyll tries to make his bad side better by drinking a potion he makes however his bad part (Mr. Hyde) is stronger than his good side and so he cannot be good. It is sort of explaining the internal conflict one has in a daily basis but in an extreme way. The book is written in third person, however it was written from the perspective of Mr. Utterson. Mr. Utterson is the lawyer that is trying to solve the case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. It is written from his perspective for the first part of the book, nevertheless towards the end of the book it is more so from the perspective of Dr. Jekyll. In certain parts of the book we are told that Dr. Jekyll, although he is a very well educated man, is paying for something he did in the past. This bring the idea that what he is going through has to do with his youth. Mr. Hyde is described as a young man while Dr. Jekyll is described as an older person, thus one infers that Mr. Hyde is really the person that Dr. Jekyll used to be, that same person that Dr. Jekyll regrets being. Dr. Jekyll in a way tries to make Mr. Hyde better. He drinks a potion to try to make Mr. Hyde stop, but he can’t stop him and turns into him as a result of that. We all have something we Hide (“Hyde”) that has to do with something we regret from our past. When we hide things like that we often fail and have to pay the consequences eventually. The same as Dr. Jekyll, our internal conflict leads us down the wrong path! This book, although it is very short, is very entertaining. I think the most interesting part of this story is when Dr. Jekyll cannot control Mr. Hyde at all and just turns into him without control. The internal conflict of Dr. Jekyll and how he turns into a persona that he has created from his younger self.
