I completely intend to give this another try. I paid maybe 3 times the value of the book to the SF public library and then just decided now is NOT the time to read this.

This book had a little bit of a lot of different characters. We meet some new bad guys. We also meet some new DHs. I love that Leta gets reunited with her daughter, that was definitely worth it.
With that title and subject matter I expected more...

I have a habit of, when choosing a book, picking a few up, reading the first few lines and seeing which one appeals the most. This one grabbed me straight away. I don't know where it came from - I found it at the bottom of a box of books in my spare room. I was very pleasantly surprised though. It was a good read. I learnt something about the feminist movement. I became attached to the characters and felt something for them all (even self-centred Lavinia!) It was really beautifully written and I love it when authors write different chapters in the first person narration of different characters (if they pull it off well, that is). I think there is something special when you have not heard of a book and are not expecting anything from it but it turns out to be wonderful.
I really considered becoming a vegetarian after I read this book, but I don't think my blood type will allow for it - I try to buy organic instead.
Hands down on of the best books i've ever read. ever.

This is an interesting story about unconditional love and its outcome. The main character really infuriated me and I wanted to tell her to "wake up" and realize what was really going on with her husband!

Ah for Lord Peter Wimsey...this is a collection of shorter tales featuring in which Lord Peter views the body in twelve tantalizing and bizarre ways, including: the man with the copper fingers, Uncle Meleager's missing will, the cat in the bag, the footsteps that ran, the stolen stomach, and the man without a face.
I really wanted to like this book. If I hadn't heard good things about it I would have given up on it long before now. (As it is I only finished about half of it.) The beginning was slow and hard to get into. Once the story started getting a little interesting it just moved at too slow of a pace for me. Everything seemed to drag on. While I appreciate the author's attention to detail I just felt like there was too much detail -- too many little anecdotes and too much information that didn't seem relevant to the story. That, coupled with the language and sexual situations just left a bad taste in my mouth and I realized my time could be spent reading something better.
