Nothing special (what should I expect from R.L. Stine, right?), but a nice way to pass the time. It's better than most of his books because it actually scared me a little.

Like everyone else who've read the Elite ops, I waited and waited for Jordan's book. Jordan and Teyha have been plaging me since Wild Card (Elite Ops, Book 1). I was a little worried about this one becuase the "big guy" is always left to the end of a series and somehow his story is a let down. Case in point: Lion's Heat (Breeds). The story of Jonas Wyatt shold have been the best of the series. The guy was a complete ass (sexy though) and Leigh built him into what I thought was going to be an explosive book. But what I got was Jonas going soft and he had none of his usual umph. This is not the case with Jordan's story. This guy didn't give up until the end and I loved it. He remained the same arrogant, controlling ass throughout and Tehya gave as good as she got--never letting Jordan have in inch. I had stopped reading the Elite Ops series after a while but I think I need to re-introduce myself with the guys of the Elite Ops. Good job on this one. 5 stars.

Although I keep trying from time to time, I'm not much of a fan of written poetry. I need to hear/see it performed to really appreciate it. That's probably true of the poems in this book as well--I'm sure I'd like them more if I saw Cisneros reading them. But the lack of voice didn't deter from their overall impact, and I thoroughly enjoy reading these poems. Perhaps because her voice is actually quite clear throughout.
oh man, i have been tearing through this one. mostly because they have a significant number of delicious pasta dishes for which the sauce is made while the pasta is boiling. also because someday i will make the greatest lasagna of all time, thanks to the last section (on lasagna).
Loved this book! If you are a runner this is a must read! The author did a great job of telling the story of the 1982 Boston marathon race as well as the life stories of the two runners - Salazar and Beardsley at the same time. I felt like I was at the race and could picture the course in my mind!

A retelling of the ballad of Thomas the Rhymer. I am biased as I have a great love for these sorts of stories, but I felt it held together fairly well. The story is told from Thomas' perspective and the reader gets to witness all the wonder of Faerie along with him.

I was pulled into their story from the very beginning. Jodi Picoult delivers another book full of sensitive topics, plot twists, and a book you don't want to put down. This book would make for interesting conversation at a book club.
Compelling and compassionate,... this guy has a thoughtful and empathetic soul.
