hilarious, I especially like the overviews of white people from different areas, like Asheville, North Carolina, Chicago, Seattle, Australia, etc..

I loved reading this book! I love Disney and especially the little mermaid, and this book reminded me a lot of the story. The way Judi Fennell described the scenery of the ocean made me want to be able to breathe underwater (seeing as I'm too scared of whats in it to go scuba diving!) The book had some neat twists in it, right up to the end. I loved the humor in the story and the way that everyday sayings were adapted to the ocean (instead of saying things like "Oh my God", he would say "Hades" or "Oh my Apollo" and he said "Catfish got your tongue?"). It was just a great, imaginative story. There will be two more books in this series, Wild Blue Under (November 2009) and Catch of a Lifetime (February 2010) and I absolutely can't wait to read them!

I loved this book the first time I read it in elementary school 20 years ago, and it has stuck with me into adulthood. Reading this was my first introduction to grief, and I still find Rylant's descriptions of love and loss to be profound. One of Summer's first descriptions of May and Ob, for example: "I never saw two people love each other so much. Sometimes the tears would just come over me, looking at the two of them, even six years back when I first got here and was too young to be thinking about love. But I guess I must have had a deep part of me thinking about it, hoping to see it all along, because the first time I saw Ob help May braid her long yellow hair, sitting in the kitchen one night, it was all I could do not to go to the woods and cry forever from happiness."

I just read this for the very first time a couple weeks ago. It is in a word haunting. There is something very moving about it, soemthing very dark and gripping. I would like to read it again to grasp its full meaning and value but I give it a thumbs up as it is both entertaining and thought provoking.

I loved this book! I love the illustrations, and how self explanatory the book is. Some of the other wordless books were just confusing... and the story didn't build as nicely as this one does. I love everything, except for how evil the mom seems! :o)

For some reason, I remembered the ending as different than it was. I won't ruin it for you, though. I'll just tell you that the moral is nonconformity, and I always thought it was about aquiescing to the demands of society and getting rid of that which does not suit your whims.

I can't quite bring myself to give it 4 stars as it is a plot boiler, but definitely a fun read fir a Sci-fi story...

Best book of the series. I honestly think that this maybe my favorite series out there right now it's just that good. Kate is everything I want in a female lead and Curran is growl worthy. Their relationship has been so fun to watch and I loved that it took so many books for them to FINALLY act on their feelings. Add in the magic aspects this is just one bad ass page turner of a book.

Sparsely written account of Katherine Parr. Prole's story is melodramatic, includes few details and has an unbelievable "WTF" ending. Complete review here: http://shelfandstuff.blogspot.com/200...

My all-time favorite SK book...I love how he starts the story completely zoomed out. You see one character completely alone...then another...then another. And slowly they come together. The web he weaves is intricate. I also loved how much thinking he had to do about how you would go about re-forming a society...how do you secure all the things people need to live and by that I don't just mean food and heat but justice and trust.
