I really enjoyed this wonderful collection of horror. Joe Hill is my new favorite horror author and should be enjoyed by all fellow fans of fear.

I absolutely loved this book. I couldn't put it down. Loved the characters. This was a great story. I intend to read more Gretchen McNeil books.

Stanley was walking down the street in the Village the night before his birthday in 1998 when a car full of thugs pulled up next to him to demand he accompany them to the nearest ATM. When they saw how much he had in his account, they decided they would keep him until the next day, when they'd be able to get more money than the $200 limit. What they didn't realize was that he was an Assistant US District Attourney. Seriously. Not only the story of his 24-hour capture, "The Birthday Party" is also the story of how they eventually found the culprits once they let Stanley escape. "Here's a guy, ya know, they have a kidnapping and they're offering, 'Hey, by the way, ya want a sandwich? Oral sex? Anything?' Ya know, we sorta looked at each other going, 'How weird is that?'" But from my eye contact and the way I handled myself during the interview, Burroughs was convinced, and by the time they were finished all he said to Wich was, "Come on, let's go get 'em."

I love reading his poetry out loud, it's like music.
L-C2 Deeply offensive book that should be L-C3.
This one is not as good as the first one, but a decent continuation of the previous story.s
a collection of brilliant little ideas and short stories. at times bizarre and disturbing (in a good makes-you-think way) and full of the, for atwood so typical, sarcastic humour.
** spoiler alert ** The first half of this book was well developed, curious, and intriguing. By the end it fell apart. That may have been done intentionally, but I crawled through the second half and finished feeling deflated. [Spoiler alert] I've read more interesting death dream-based fiction than this. You knew that's where it was going, but because of the general strangeness of the book, I wanted a bit more at the end.
This is a series of anecdotes (mostly theatrical) more than an autobiography. Some of it is amusing, and if you love theater and know the names, it will be particularly interesting.
