I absolutely loved this book. Elizabeth Arnold did an amazing job, especially for her first book. Her writing skills were also amazing. A perfect day read, keeps you wanting to know more. I really enjoyed how Elizabeth kept going between the past and present; especially when you wanted to know why things were, in the present, when they were the same in the past. I also enjoyed the struggle between two sisters. Makes you realize that even through blood, you can be hurt emotionally from a family member. At times I felt that the two sisters, were more just friends then anything blood related, because I just could not imagine a family member doing something as cruel as Eve did. It's sad to read though, the struggles they went through as children, which I feel is what helped push for the betrayal at the older ages.... And Justin...words can not express the disappointment I had for him in the end! Though he is a typical male, I expected more from him. Besides the drama that went between the sisters and their love for Justin, this book was amazing! I highly recommend it to everyone! Whether your looking for a beach read or just a luxury read, this is definitely a book for you!!

Not only is this story true, but it will make you laugh and cry over and over again. My favorite book of all time. Loved it. But maybe I'm "Irishly" biased.

I really liked the characters and the story. The end really felt unresolved for me though. It seemed as if the main character was unhappy and ready to make a move and then the book just ended. Not like in a "we think she went for it" way, but just like the author ran out of time. Again, the characters were nice and original tho. Wonderful big family workings.

Call me a fan-boy or whatever, but I love this world and its characters. I'm just gonna soak up as much of Midcyru as i can until Mr. Weeks chooses to continue writing in this world. If you haven't read The Night Angel Trilogy yet (I don't know why you would be reading this) PICK IT UP! You won't regret it. Weeks' character development is probably the best I've read. I truly care about the characters in his books. When an author is able transmit the emotion of his characters to the reader so they actually feel what the characters do he has achieved something rare. This novella is no exception, the back story on Durzo seams flawlessly with the trilogy and fills in many of its blanks, Durzo is such a noble, vile, clever, antagonistic, asshole protagonist! So much fun to read about, superhuman with as much moral misdirection as a politician!

I just finished this book, and at the moment, feel unequal to critiquing it. I will say that I found a great deal of food for thought, and leave it at that. Of course, I recommend it, particularly to those interested in questions of the soul, of purpose, of life, and of time.
