El favorito de todos mis libros con perdón de Cervantes
Ugh. Was mislead by interesting blurb on the back cover. Don't even pick this one up.

Rachel Hawkins is fast becoming my favorite YA author! Her books are everything I LOVE about YA fiction; in fact, she's bumped the bar up quite a bit now as far as expectations go. One complaint I have about a lot of YA paranormal mystery/romance is the lack of humor, especially in the female protagonist. Sophie Mercer makes up for those girls and then some! Don't get me wrong, this is not a comedy; in fact, it has a much darker tone than Hex Hall. But Sophie has this sarcastic, snarky, self-deprecating wit that makes me fall in love with her more than the lead guys (and if you've read it, you know thats saying something!). To me, Hawkin's writing is seamless. Everything from characterizations to plot to setting to world-building is perfect. The only complaint I had was when it ended. Also, for those friends of mine who are looking for a "clean" book to give their teenagers, this is a must-have! But don't let that turn the rest of you off; there is plenty to get excited about in Hex Hall and Demonglass. Team Cal!

I loved this book! Not a big non-fiction reader, but the world of competitive scrabble play (and mostly its players) is so fascinating and weird. Stefan Fatsis does a great job with this book -- it's well written and also highly compassionate. Fatsis writes the book from an insider's perspective as he begins to identify with the most neurotic of Scrabblers and reaches for the upper echelons of Scrabbledom himself. Very cool.
Not bad and a very easy read. The book has the distinct and irrefutable advantage over the film of not having Hugh Grant flopping around all over it.
not only by rachel cohn! also david levithan!

Pretty typical Coelho (at least so far as I can tell): an allegory of redemption. The devil comes to a small Italian village, to bribe the villagers so that he can find out once and for all whether or not humanity is truly evil. Do I ruin the ending if I tell you that we're not? "In the first place, you shouldn't believe in promises. The world is full of them: promises of riches, of eternal salvation, of infinite love. Some people think they can promise anything, others accept whatever seems to guarantee better days ahead, as, I suspect, is your case. Those who make promises they don't keep end up powerless and frustrated, and exactly the same fate awaits those who believe those promises."

A powerful book. The writing is beautiful; there were moments that I wished I had my computer and/or notepad along (I read it on vacation) so that I could jot down quotes, and when I finished it, I wished I could keep it longer so that I could read it again. But alas, it is from the public library and has too many holds for me to renew it. I will be putting another hold on it though. The alternating voices of Little Bee and Sarah were real to me, and the story unfolded perfectly. Charlie/Batman provided enough humor and sweetness so that I could continue reading this really hard story. Highly recommend!

This book was very good. It was scary but it was more suspensful. It was also very creepy. I recommend this book to people that enjoy scary books. If these stories really happened, it's creepy and demonic and I feel bad for the people it happened to.
A very quick read. Pure trashy entertainment. Loved not having to think! :)
